Role Description The Part-Time Instructor – Accounting is responsible for delivering high-quality synchronous online instruction to college-level students. This includes helping students develop foundational and advanced accounting knowledge, financial analysis skills, business communication abilities, and practical applications necessary for academic and professional success within the accounting field. - Deliver live, scheduled online class sessions, and actively teach during all assigned meeting times. - Develop and deliver lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and other learning activities related to accounting principles, financial analysis, payroll, taxation, computerized accounting, and business operations. - Design and implement assessments, including exams, quizzes, projects, presentations, case studies, spreadsheet activities, and applied accounting assignments, to evaluate student progress. - Use a variety of teaching methods, including case studies, simulations, real-world business applications, accounting software, and technology-based instruction to support student learning. - Facilitate critical thinking, problem-solving, financial analysis, and application of accounting concepts and business practices. Qualifications - Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field required; individuals with credentials in another subject area may be considered with evidence of at least 15 semester credits in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration coursework and relevant related experience to support subject area expertise. - Demonstrated experience teaching at the college level preferred. - Proven ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies for diverse learners. - Experience with online learning management systems/platforms (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas) and instructional technology is a plus. - Experience using accounting software, spreadsheet applications, and computerized accounting systems preferred. - Experience utilizing AI-enhanced accounting, financial analysis, and educational technologies to support instruction, data analysis, problem-solving, and student engagement is preferred. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Description The Adjunct Instructor – Oral Communication is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality instruction in Oral Communication to college-level students. Success in this position involves fostering an inclusive learning environment, demonstrating subject matter expertise, and providing responsive support to learners. This role is integral to the department's mission of promoting academic excellence and student success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Develop and deliver lectures, laboratory sessions, and other learning activities on oral communication. · Design and implement assessments, including exams, quizzes, and assignments, to evaluate student progress. · Maintain updated course syllabi and instructional materials in compliance with institutional guidelines. · Incorporate diverse teaching methodologies, including technology-based instruction and active learning strategies. · Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours, email communication, and advice. · Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and program review processes. · Engage in professional development to stay current in the field of communication. · Engage in professional development for teaching methods, including using distance learning techniques. · Assist in departmental and institutional initiatives, such as accreditation processes or community outreach programs. · Other duties as assigned.
