About the role: The Director of Development Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for the Development department’s systems, processes, data, and financial coordination. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Development, this role ensures the integrity, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of development operations in support of the organization’s fundraising goals and mission. The Director partners closely with Finance, Data, and Development leadership to ensure strong stewardship, compliance, and a positive donor experience across all revenue streams. Location: Hybrid, Washington D.C. Reports to: Senior Vice President of Development Positions reporting to this position: Associate Director of Development Operations, Development Database Manager, Contributions Processing Associate, Membership Services Manager This Position Is: Full-time, Exempt, Non-union Salary range: $125,000- $165,000 Responsibilities: - Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Development Operations team, including managing and developing staff, setting clear performance expectations and accountability measures, establishing and optimizing standard operating procedures, tracking and reporting on key performance indicators, and managing vendor relationships to ensure operational excellence and alignment with organizational goals; - Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture that supports excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across the Development department; - Serve as a senior operational advisor to the Senior Vice President of Development, proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen systems, workflows, and outcomes; - Serve as the primary liaison between the Development and Finance departments, including the CFO, leading monthly revenue reconciliation, assisting with audit preparation, and supporting compliance efforts such as state registrations; - Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and clarity of revenue reporting and analytics to support organizational planning and decision-making; - Sponsor and manage systems projects, including automation, integrations, and CRM enhancements, working with internal partners and external contractors as appropriate; - With the team, explore new processes for tracking contributions, processing acknowledgments, and reporting on data and analytics; - Share knowledge, expertise, and best practices across the Development team, documenting standards for database use, communication systems, and revenue reporting; - Build and maintain extremely strong cross-functional relationships to ensure alignment among Development, Finance, Data, and external partners; - Other duties consistent with the requirements and qualifications of this job description may be assigned in support of organizational goals. - Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree required with at least 8 years of progressive experience in development operations or a related field; - Demonstrated expertise in development operations, including deep experience with fundraising databases, data management, and analytics to inform strategy and decision-making; - Proven ability to lead and manage staff, with at least 2 years of experience supervising teams and driving departmental priorities and outcomes; - Strong ability to partner cross-functionally with leaders across departments to design and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, collaboration, and organizational impact; - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data and operational insights into clear, actionable recommendations for diverse audiences; - Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic, and politically sensitive environment; - Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, exercising sound judgment and adaptability in evolving organizational contexts; - Experience working with diverse communities and within multicultural environments, with a strong appreciation for and sensitivity to cultural differences; - Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, including integrating equitable practices into development operations, data management, and team leadership; - Clear understanding of and commitment to Reproductive Freedom for All’s mission, values, and goals. - OPTIONAL: Nice-to-haves (or excited-to-learns): - Experience with FEC compliance of PACs. • Assist in background research on federal judicial and executive nominees; • Assist in tracking Supreme Court, federal, and state cases related to reproductive freedom, and responses to these cases; • Track federal executive vacancies and nominations; • Assist with monitoring floor votes, committee votes, and congressional hearings related to reproductive freedom issues; • Analyze state and federal laws and policies related to reproductive freedom; • Assist in researching state legislation, and laws and policies related to reproductive freedom; • Research elected officials’ and candidates’ records on reproductive freedom; • Research and evaluate complete records for federal judicial nominees and select executive nominees, evaluate their records on reproductive freedom, and produce profiles to support the work of the federal Government Relations team and nominations coalition; • Assist with the organization’s work on court reform, which could include memos on policy proposals and monitoring court-related legislation; • Assist with research, analysis, and engagement around the organization’s work on voting rights and democracy; • Support the Department’s work related to engagement around our five organizational intersectional commitments; • Other research projects as assigned; • Collaborate with other Reproductive Freedom for All departments, as needed; • Attend virtual briefings and other policy events with Reproductive Freedom for All staff; • The fellow will be actively involved in drafting/contributing to various assignments, including those related to: hill alerts, records on reproductive freedom, letters to the hill, sign on letters, etc; • Complete a longer term research project on a topic related to reproductive freedom and/or an intersectional commitment.
Graphic Design Intern

• Create social media graphics for Instagram, Facebook and (X)Twitter featuring weekly value statements, news headlines, “featuring” posts where we highlight our President and CEO or other key figures in the Reproductive Freedom space, pointing out the “Villain” where we highlight anti-abortion leaders and anti-abortion laws/bills, breaking news segments, judicial highlights and appropriate memes; • Create graphics for specific campaigns; • Create specifically branded endorsement and win graphics for our social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, (X)Twitter) of endorsed candidates pro-reproductive freedom values; • Create endorsement graphics that span all areas of government (from State legislatures and judges to Federal legislators and judges); • Write and film short videos of explainer content that will be shared on social media to meet our outreach goals to existing and potential members; • Organize our massive catalog of vector graphics onto Google drive; • Track and store photos that come in from rallies and news events; • Support creating print graphics for various departments in the organization (i.e. signage used at rallies and specific speeches or political events, postcards for State chapters supporting candidates or ballot measures, flyers announcing events and info sessions in public spaces and universities, one pagers and infographics for elected officials); • Create merch designs that will be featured on the website shop, as needed. • The final deliverable will be a body of design work that can be added to a portfolio for a final university grade or an entry level design job resume.
Independent Expenditures Director

• Lead and manage Reproductive Freedom for All’s Independent Expenditure (IE) program to advance the organization’s political and electoral goals; • Develop and execute a comprehensive independent expenditure strategy and corresponding tactics to elect reproductive freedom champions and hold opponents accountable; • Manage the IE budgets, paid communications programs, and direct voter contact programs across multiple states; • Manage IE staff and work directly with IE consultants, building an inclusive, high-performing team that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve; • Collaborate with senior leadership to set the overall vision, goals, metrics, and timelines for IE activity that align with organizational priorities and values, as legally permissible; • Manage the development and implementation of message and ad testing, polling, and creative content to ensure that paid communications are evidence-backed, effective, inclusive, and grounded in our mission; • In coordination with the Data & Analytics department, drive electoral targeting and direct voter contact experimentation and programming; • Serve as the staff lead on independent expenditure side coordination with allied organizations, coalitions, and IE tables, representing Reproductive Freedom for All as a trusted and strategic partner; • Track all tactics, products, and testing for use by relevant departments, as legally permissible; • Work closely with legal, compliance, and finance teams to ensure all IE activities meet applicable FEC and state-level requirements and reporting standards; • Partner with staff on the independent expenditure side of the Communications team to ensure message alignment and consistency across IE programs, earned media, and candidate engagement efforts; • Collaborate with the Development team to brief donors and partners on IE strategy, impact, and outcomes, including preparation of materials for reports and proposals, as legally permissible; • Regularly brief senior leadership and the Board on IE performance, strategy, and evolving political dynamics within FEC and state compliance guidelines both verbally and written; • Increase Reproductive Freedom for All’s visibility and influence in national and state-level electoral work, including serving as an organizational spokesperson upon request; • Prepare an end of cycle report that includes overarching strategy, tactics, testing and polling, and other relevant information; and • Other duties may be assigned consistent with the responsibilities and qualifications of this job description.
