Role Description The Vice President, Associate General Counsel will lead the Business Transactions Unit in the Legal Department, with an emphasis on corporate and commercial contract matters. In this position, you will give legal advice, ensure representation in legal proceedings, prepare legal research and perform legal and policy analysis of issues. You will create and administer contracts on behalf of MOHELA. The Vice President, Associate General Counsel is under the general direction of the General Counsel. You will also supervise the support staff with the possibility of supervising other attorneys. These responsibilities may include: - Interviewing, hiring, and training employees - Planning, assigning, and directing work - Appraising performance - Rewarding and disciplining employees - Addressing complaints and resolving problems Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Provide daily legal advice on corporate and commercial matters, with particular focus on commercial and governmental contracts, as well as general business transactions. - Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts with third parties, including but not limited to loan servicing agreements, subcontracting agreements, vendor agreements, and technology agreements. - Draft, review, and implement contract templates and contract playbooks for the company, as well as engage in process design to enhance the effectiveness of the procurement and contracting processes. - Draft, review, and implement requests for information, requests for proposals, and similar documentation, as well as assist other business units in the company’s due diligence efforts relative to prospective business partners. - Provide legal support on real estate, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate financing matters. - Work collaboratively with the Federal Contracts team in reviewing contract modifications and advising on legal strategy related to federal contract matters and disputes. - Retain and supervise approved outside legal counsel for corporate and commercial matters. - Monitor legal and regulatory changes affecting commercial agreements and update contract templates and playbooks accordingly. - A key leader in the company’s implementation of a contract management platform. Qualifications - Doctor of Jurisprudence from a nationally accredited law school and a current member in good standing in at least one state bar. - Licensed, eligible to practice law in Missouri or the ability to obtain admission to the MO state bar in a timely manner. - At least 12 years of experience in a corporate law practice, either with a law firm or in an in-house legal department. - At least 5+ years of experience developing and executing contract and risk mitigation strategies as well as negotiating complex, high-stakes contracts. - Demonstrated experience in transactional law, including drafting, negotiating, and implementing contracts, as well as developing related policies, strategies, and playbooks. - Experience in a leadership capacity, including managing and mentoring other attorneys or legal personnel. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to collect data and draw legal conclusions. - Excellent drafting, organization, and time-management skills. - Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. - Self-motivated team player with a high degree of professionalism, positive attitude, and confidentiality. - Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure and with competing priorities. - Must be a U.S. citizen with an active 6C Public Trust Security Clearance or the ability to obtain this level of clearance. - Some travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with federal contract laws, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Education Acquisition Regulation (EDAR), and other government/agency procurement regulations. - Experience in the student loan industry or other consumer finance and/or collections industry is a plus. - Experience with implementing a contract management platform.

MOHELA is seeking dedicated professionals to join our team as a fully remote Private Credit Collector. As a Private Credit Collector, you’ll primarily be responsible for performing collection activities in an effort to recover losses from assigned accounts. Collectors locate and communicate with debtors via telephone and written notices in order to obtain repayment in full or to establish acceptable payment arrangements. Additionally, collectors resolve issues of a non-routine nature as necessary as well as perform skip tracing and contract observance functions to ensure compliance of all company, client, and federal and state regulations. - Communicate with debtors in regards to the repayment of their delinquent debt. - Perform skip tracing to locate debtors. - Ensure all accounts are worked within client standards and Federal Regulations. - Maintain continuing education, training in industry career development. - Other duties assigned by management. Qualifications - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. - Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service, call center, sales, or collections role (may substitute experience requirement with college degree). - Demonstrated stable work history. - Ability to attend mandatory class-based training the first 3 weeks of employment. Time off during this period is not able to be accommodated. - Ability to meet all office and technology requirements. - Basic keyboarding skills and PC experience in a Windows environment. - Effective written and verbal communication skills. - Strong listening skills, ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions. - Good mathematical skills including calculator skills. - Goal Oriented, and seeks to consistently meet aggressive daily, weekly, and monthly production and quality goals. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines. - Negotiation, counseling and problem solving skills. - Reliable, ability to work flexible day, evening and weekend hours as required. - Ability to learn company collections computer system and phone system. - Persistent, ability to overcome objections, ability to remove barriers. - Team player. Requirements - Reliable high-speed internet – Minimum of 100mbps download speed and 10 upload speed with latency of less than 25-50 ms. - Capability for a wired internet connection by connecting an Ethernet cord into your server from the router/modem. WiFi, 5G, HotSpot, etc. is not compatible with our systems. - Private workspace or home office free from distractions. Benefits - Compensation: $16 per hour + Bonus Incentive Eligible + Full Benefits Package and Generous Paid-Time-Off. - Start Date: Monday, March 9, 2026. - Training Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM EST (3 weeks). - Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3 days per week 8 AM - 5 PM EST; 2 days per week 12 PM - 9 PM EST. - One Friday 12 PM - 9 PM EST Shift required per month. - Saturday hours may be required based on business need.
