• Oversee the process of care delivered to patients. • Coordinate/facilitate patient care progression throughout the continuum of care. • Assure the plan of care and services provided are patient focused, high quality, efficient and cost effective. • Meet directly with patient/family to assess needs and develop an individualized continuing care plan in collaboration with the physician. • Monitor length of stay and ancillary resource use on an ongoing basis and take actions to achieve continuous improvement in both areas. • Communicate information to the Utilization Management or Case Management team to aid in appropriate level of care determination and reimbursement by third party payors. • Monitor patient flow through multidisciplinary rounds and aid in implementation of processes for improvement to decrease delays. • Serve as patient advocate to ED population by identifying needs, coordinating services and resources for the management of complex patients to facilitate quality care and cost efficient outcomes. • Ensure that all elements critical to the plan of care have been communicated to the patient/family as well as members of the healthcare team.
Epic Application Analyst II – Anesthesia, IT Clinical Systems

• Analyzes, designs, and modifies software applications, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support implementation of one or more software modules. • Serves as a liaison between the IT Department, vendors and clients for multiple systems/applications. • Gathers and works with departments to prioritize development initiatives and activities. • Provides analysis of workflow and implements solutions to meet department needs. • Provides technical/application assistance to clients and IT staff as appropriate. • Creates and maintains all documentation for all assigned applications, and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications. • Participates in support for systems both daily and during implementations. • Works collaboratively with IT Educators to ensure system feature and function modifications are shared with educators so training plans and documentation can be updated appropriately. • Serves as a mentor to Epic Applications Analyst I.

• The Observation Coder is responsible for accurately assigning diagnosis and procedure codes to observation discharges at all McLeod Health facilities. • Possess outpatient coding knowledge and experience necessary to accurately assign ICD-10-CM codes for principal diagnosis and any applicable secondary diagnoses on all Observation encounters. • Possess outpatient coding knowledge and experience necessary to accurately assign CPT procedure codes for principal procedure and any applicable secondary procedures on all Observation encounters to arrive at the most appropriate APC assignment. • Understands and appropriately assigns all applicable modifiers to CPT procedure codes and ancillary charges required to prevent billing edits. • Queries physicians appropriately when documentation is not clear in the medical record. • Maintains department specific productivity standards with a 95% accuracy rate.
• Responsibility includes assisting with the day-to-day administration of corporate compensation and benefits programs, plans, policies and procedures. • Researches, analyzes, plans, recommends and implements compensation and benefit plans, policies and systems. • Helps in determining most effective administrative procedures. • Ensures timely processing of benefit invoices, analyzing to determine accuracy. • Participates in requested and routine salary and/or benefit surveys. • Generates routine and special reports as well as auditing for accuracy and data integrity. • Responsible for understanding the relationship between the HRIS and other systems so that appropriate integration is completed. • Assists with benefit orientation, enrollment and other compensation and benefit communications. • Serves as backup where needed within the HR Operations Division. • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced office environment while being detail oriented.

• The Inpatient Coder is responsible for accurately assigning diagnosis and procedure codes to inpatient discharges at the smaller McLeod Health facilities representing less complex medical/surgical encounters. • Codes all Obstetrics, Newborn and Behavioral Health encounters at applicable facilities if assigned by Supervisor and/or Director. • Queries physicians appropriately when documentation is not clear in the medical record. • Other duties as assigned.
