• Own the technical architecture and integration standards across all UK deployments, setting the bar for how Lyrebird is implemented in production NHS environments • Get into the technical detail when it matters: reviewing integration designs, debugging production issues, challenging implementation approaches, and writing code where needed • Lead and develop a team of Forward Deployed Engineers across the UK, including 1-on-1s, career development, and setting clear delivery milestones • Translate commercial agreements into rigorous technical implementation plans with defined scope, integration architecture, and success criteria before work begins • Drive concurrent deployments across multiple NHS trusts simultaneously, surfacing risks early and maintaining momentum across a growing pipeline • Act as the senior technical voice in customer conversations and on-site deployments, including with C-suite and clinical leadership stakeholders • Partner with Sales to validate technical feasibility before deals are committed, and escalate systemic product gaps back to the core engineering team
• Support clinicians across live chat, phone, and online training channels, ensuring every interaction is empathetic, accurate, and timely • De-escalate frustration with patience and care, turning difficult moments into positive experiences that build long-term trust • Take full ownership of queries from first contact to resolution, never leaving a clinician without a clear path forward • Identify when an issue requires escalation and transition it smoothly to the right team member or channel • Proactively share tips, guidance, and best practices to help clinicians get more value from Lyrebird • Translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language that builds clinician confidence rather than adding to it • Spot recurring pain points and advocate internally for product and process improvements • Collaborate across departments to ensure clinicians always receive consistent, high-quality support

Role Description Lyrebird is scaling fast, and our Forward Deployed Engineer is how we get complex enterprise integrations across the line. You'll own the technical relationship with hospitals, health systems, and large clinical groups, building the integrations and custom solutions that turn enterprise conversations into signed contracts and live deployments. Most of what you ship will land in the core platform, so your work has lasting impact well beyond any individual deal. This role suits a developer who thrives outside a purely product-focused environment, someone energised by variety, comfortable switching between a pre-sales call and a pull request, and who takes pride in making complex things feel simple for customers. You're as comfortable whiteboarding an architecture as writing the code that implements it. Qualifications - Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills, with experience building and consuming REST APIs - Experience designing secure integrations, including OAuth, token-based auth, and regulated environments - Comfort across the full delivery cycle, from prototyping through to production - Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders Requirements - Experience with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, or MLLP - Familiarity with C#, PHP, or Java - Prior experience in a customer-facing or forward-deployed engineering role Benefits - The code you write will help clinicians spend less time on documentation and more time with patients, something you'll see reflected in the feedback we get every day. - We're building a team that reflects the diversity of the people who benefit from our work. - We want Lyrebird to be a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and able to thrive. - If you're from an underrepresented background in tech, we strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet every requirement. - We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. - These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. - If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.
