• Advance our recommendation and personalization logic by designing and validating new statistical approaches - from improved segmentation models and engagement scoring to causal uplift estimation and multi-touch attribution. • Own the experimentation framework for the team: design rigorous A/B and multivariate tests, develop methodologies to handle complex measurement challenges (novelty effects, interference, long-term effects), and ensure results are interpreted correctly. • Tackle complex analytical problems that require going beyond descriptive statistics - building predictive models, running causal inference analyses, and decomposing metric movements into their drivers. • Partner closely with the Senior Analyst to turn user journey insights into statistically grounded targeting and personalization strategies. • Collaborate with the ML Engineering Data Scientist to ensure that statistical models and experimental findings can be produced and integrated into the recommendation engine. • Define and refine the metrics and success criteria used to evaluate personalization quality, ensuring we measure what actually matters for users and for the business. • Own the offline evaluation framework: build and maintain counterfactual evaluation methods, replay-based policy estimation, and offline screening pipelines that let the team assess 10 ideas offline for every 1 tested live - dramatically accelerating iteration speed. • Map and measure the interplay between editorial rules and personalization logic - systematically investigating when and how rules like hardcoded IP placements, content diversity constraints, or curated onboarding slots interact with ML-optimized recommendations, and designing experiments to quantify the trade-off. • Communicate complex statistical findings clearly and confidently to non-technical stakeholders, and advocate for methodological rigor across the team.

As a Senior Data Analyst on the Product Engagement team, your core mission is to deeply understand the Lingokids user journey - from first install to long-term retention - and translate that understanding into concrete targeting and engagement strategies. You will map how different user segments move through the product, identify friction points and opportunity windows, and recommend specific interventions (content, messaging, features, timing) that help us reach the right user with the right action at the right moment. Comfortable building funnels, retention curves, cohort analyses, and event-level user flows from scratch. - User journey thinking: ability to go beyond reporting metrics and reconstruct why users behave the way they do. You connect data signals into coherent narratives about user intent, motivation, and friction. - Targeting and segmentation mindset: experience defining actionable user segments and translating them into concrete product or growth recommendations - not just describing who users are, but what to do about it. - Statistical rigor: solid grasp of A/B testing, significance testing, and common pitfalls (novelty effects, SRM, peeking). Comfortable communicating uncertainty and caveats clearly. - Storytelling and influence: the ability to turn complex analyses into clear, persuasive narratives for non-technical stakeholders. Strong at structuring findings into recommendations that drive decisions. - End-to-end ownership: a track record of defining problems independently, building the right analytical framework, and following through until insight becomes action. Nice to have - Experience with Python (Pandas, Matplotlib) for more advanced data manipulation or exploratory analysis. - Familiarity with DBT or other data transformation tools. - Experience in a subscription or freemium business, particularly around lifecycle and retention analytics. - Exposure to CRM targeting logic, push/email segmentation, or personalization frameworks. - Experience with subscription revenue modeling or LTV estimation.
