• Perform detailed engineering and design for overhead high-voltage transmission lines (69 kV to 500 kV+) • Develop and review plan & profile drawings, structure loading trees, foundation designs, and conductor/insulator specifications • Conduct line routing studies, analyze structure spotting, and assess design impacts using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and related tools • Prepare design calculations, engineering reports, material lists, bid documents, and construction packages • Coordinate with internal teams including civil, structural, electrical, and project management • Support project permitting, environmental studies, land acquisition, and construction activities as needed • Participate in design reviews, quality checks, and safety evaluations • Maintain project documentation and ensure designs comply with company standards, industry codes (NESC), and client requirements • Communicate with clients regarding technical issues, project progress, and deliverable expectations
• Design overhead transmission lines using LiDAR modeling, sag-tension calculations, pole spotting, and right-of-way studies • Model structures and framing for steel, concrete, wood, and FRP monopoles, including insulator and arm components • Perform routing and optimization for complex rebuilds, pole replacements, and distribution feeder relocations • Execute pole loading analysis and ensure all designs meet NESC and utility standards • Produce engineering deliverables, including plan profiles, framing drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities • Conduct site visits and feasibility studies to resolve technical issues and perform construction-phase inspections • Provide technical oversight by reviewing subcontractor designs and mentoring junior staff/drafters • Manage project logistics, including tendering assistance, documentation, and budget/schedule compliance • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and clients, including short-term travel as needed • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
• Lead the design and engineering of high voltage substations (up to 500kV), including physical layout, protection & control, grounding, and equipment specifications • Serve as the technical authority for substation engineering deliverables, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality • Oversee and mentor a team of engineers and designers; provide technical guidance and review work products • Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and clients to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and technical requirements • Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, bill of materials, and technical documentation • Support field activities, including site assessments, commissioning support, and issue resolution • Ensure compliance with industry standards (NESC, IEEE, NEC), utility requirements, and company engineering practices • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource planning for assigned engineering tasks • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and standards
• Lead or support the design of HV/MV substations (69kV-500kV) including physical layout, grounding, protection & control, and equipment specifications • Develop engineering deliverables such as one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment plans • Substation Design includes the creation of substation construction drawing packages, developing bill of materials and the procurement of minor materials • Ensure designs comply with NESC, IEEE, NEC, and utility standards • Collaborate closely with procurement, construction, and project management teams throughout the EPC lifecycle • Provide engineering support during construction, including RFIs, field changes, and technical clarifications • Review vendor drawings, equipment submittals, and technical documentation • Participate in constructability reviews and support commissioning activities
