• Demonstrating success leading large, strategic, or complex areas that have clear impact to the success of Inductive Automation • Helping evolve architectural direction for one or more verticals and contribute to cross-cutting platform concerns, moving the system toward it incrementally • Leading the design lifecycle: requirements discovery → RFC/PRD → design → implementation plan → delivery → deployment → operation. Maintaining decision records • Developing and evolving domain and data models; defining context boundaries and mappings • Delivering projects with broad organizational impact; decomposing them into well-scoped, maintainable pieces for the team • Quickly analyzing and resolving tactical issues across a wide variety of areas • Maintaining deep technical domain knowledge of the platform's apps, services, contexts, and frameworks • Designing systems, frameworks, and platform interfaces/APIs intended to succeed long-term across module and service boundaries. • Improving developer workflow, tooling, and deployment in ways that measurably aid delivery velocity (this isn't a CD-focused role, but velocity is a first-class concern) • Using negotiation and patience to collaborate with other senior leaders, ensuring progress and setting the example for others • Collaborating across teams and disciplines to resolve technical debates and reach durable decisions; using influence and patience with other senior contributors • Mentoring engineers on distributed-systems design, event-sourced/CQRS patterns, JVM/runtime reasoning, data modeling, and engineering judgment • Influencing senior leaders on engineering strategy • Defining technical strategy and executes to improve products, infrastructure, processes, or organizations • Completing thoughtful and constructive code reviews in a timely manner • Participating in the hiring process, as needed (by submitting referrals, meeting candidates, attending recruiting events, or presenting externally) • Participating in conducting engineering interviews, as needed • Responsible for one or more product areas or other IC leadership role (Product Lead, Scrum Master)
• Validating issues of all complexity with minimal guidance including issues with regression risk • Contributing both fixes and new tests to automated test suites; support junior Quality Assurance Engineers automation tasks via mentorship • Diagnosing run failure reports properly and transform them into actionable tasks • Focusing on testing-related items within the development lifecycle, including testability of requirements, implementation, and testing (collaborating with development along the way) • Consistently meet target threshold for regression tests execution; add manual test cases where appropriate, identify deficient test cases, and provide mentoring on test case development and execution • Developing and executing test plans that cover all functional requirements; determine applicable test strategies for medium/high complexity bugs and features in team-relevant Ignition product areas • Working toward and maintain an advanced level of proficiency across multiple Ignition product areas within the team's scope; gain proficiency as a subject matter expert in a product area • Breaking down complex testing efforts into simpler phases that can be tested by less experienced engineers • Prioritizing unowned or undesirable work that enables the team to move faster • Demonstrating autonomy without sacrificing quality or delivery time; resolving and overcoming medium scale blockers or challenges • Working with the Quality Assurance team and adjacent teams to solve problems; escalate problems that have wider scope • Building relationships with stakeholders which may include customers, product managers, cross-functional partners, and external partners • Ensuring that knowledge is shared amongst the team and does not position themselves or others as a single point of failure • Resolving issues and sharing knowledge by improving the execution of the Support Division, Training Department, Sales Division, etc • Working towards and maintaining an advanced understanding of industries that use Ignition, our customer base, and the purpose of SCADA software • Staying knowledgeable about the company, its values, each division's contributions, and the company's industry contributions • Helping junior engineers with issues and support them with their technical growth • Improving team strength by advising managers and other leaders with insights and recommendations

• Identifying low to moderate priority performance issues within a complex application environment, including the debugging of errors and parsing of logs and stack traces • Working with other divisions (support, sales engineering, etc) to stay up-to-date on the performance of Ignition, and to gather information on common customer setups for the variety of different industries that Ignition is used in • Debugging multiple areas of the tech stack (Web Browser, Java applications, Mobile applications) in order to analyze resource usage • Utilize tools like Wireshark for traffic filtering and packet analysis to troubleshoot network-related performance issues • Use tools for quick application development and infrastructure deployment (Docker, Vagrant, Terraform) to simulate various production environments • Setup and query SQL databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL) to analyze data integrity and query performance. • Demonstrating sufficient proficiency in relevant Ignition product areas, and adequately testing all areas • Maintaining a proficient understanding of the company, our primary software deliverable and its purpose (Ignition), and our customer base • Collaborating with Developers, Product Managers, and QA Generalists to clarify requirements and provide feedback on functionality, usability, and performance • Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using issue tracking tools, ensuring clear communication and resolution processes • Staying up to date with industry trends, tools, and technologies to continually enhance testing strategies

• Owning the life sciences vertical strategy and annual operating plan, in coordination with the Global Head of Strategic Initiatives • Building and maintaining a qualified pipeline of pharma, biotech, medical device, and CDMO opportunities through direct customer engagement and partner channels • Developing and stewarding executive-level relationships at target operators, EPCs, OEMs, and systems integrators • Defining total addressable market, serviceable market, and Inductive Automation’s competitive position within the life sciences segment • Translating operator and integrator requirements into product input across MES, batch execution, electronic batch records, historian, and Unified Namespace use cases, working directly with Product Management and Engineering • Managing and growing a direct book of strategic accounts to meet revenue targets • Providing deal support, technical positioning, and industry coaching to the broader sales team and integrator channel • Leading industry presence at major events including ISPE, Interphex, BIO, and other pharma manufacturing conferences, including speaking, panel, and executive briefing roles • Partnering with Marketing on vertical content strategy, including technical articles, customer stories, event activations, and digital presence • Identifying gaps in partner coverage and contribute to integrator and distributor recruitment and enablement in the vertical • Representing the life sciences customer voice in cross-functional planning, including roadmap reviews, certification priorities, and go-to-market sequencing
