• Serve on implementation project as a client-side resource for technical configurations, integrations, testing and validation tasks. • Manage day-to-day project tasks for a clients successful payroll transition. • Configure workflows to optimize system buildout. • Creates custom reports and showcase templated reports to deliver the most value during a client implementation or optimization project. • Deliver custom system training for clients to ensure a high adoption-rate of technology during a client implementation or optimization project. • Perform analysis of current client processes and identify opportunities within the software that will deliver the greatest value and functionality for the client. • Partner with client to identify and prioritize their needs. • Coordinate directly with platform vendor to obtain answers and design solutions for optimization tasks. • Collaborate with leaders, project managers and other consultants to ensure extremely successful client partnerships. • Participate in pre-sales scoping analysis to determine project needs and projected hours. • Identify and engage in cross-training opportunities to increase skills across many different platforms and domain areas (ie Payroll, Benefits, HR, Custom Reporting, Integrations, Data, etc). • Assist project managers and team members in creation of detailed input for project plan sections related to technical configurations and/or integrations for clients. • Contribute to the creation and execution of test scripts and audits related to all technical configurations and/or integrations during all phases of projects such as SIT, UAT, Parallel and Go-live. • Serve as a liaison between the client, platform vendor and HCM Unlocked data resources to ensure that the clients data requirements are accurately and completely captured during the design phase and then confirmed to be complete during testing and validation phases. • Serve as a liaison between platform vendors and HCM Unlocked technical resources to provide oversight and input during design and testing phases of inbound/outbound integrations between vendors. • Participate in the review of existing clients technical architecture and landscape and make recommendations for optimizations with the intent to eliminate the possibility of any errors during the end-to-end flow of data. • Provide Project Manager with formal Signoff of technical configuration work at each critical validation stage gate. • Collaborate with Project Manager to maintain the Open Issues log and resolve all items related to technical configurations and/or integrations in a timely manner. • Provide Project Manager with proof of testing and validation of technical configuration and/or integration work. • Use Microsoft Excel and data validation tools to assist project team to research issues and confirm data accuracy in customer databases.
• Review and analyze client-provided payroll documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Identify missing or incomplete information and communicate required items to client • Access and navigate multiple payroll platforms (QuickBooks, Gusto, Auris/Heartland, Paychex, ADP) to retrieve reports and data • Maintain organized records and update internal tracking tools with critical business details (EIN, entity information, responsible parties, etc.) • Assist clients with state payroll tax agency access, including providing links and helping obtain login credentials • Perform data entry and reconcile payroll data against filed tax returns and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies • Process after-the-fact (historical) payrolls for small businesses, ensuring accurate reconstruction of payroll data • Prepare and file payroll tax returns and amendments with federal, state, and local agencies, including Forms 941, 940, W2 state and local payroll tax filings • Collaborate with internal team members to ensure timely completion of payroll tax projects • Work within both automated and manual payroll environments to process, validate, and reconcile payroll data
• Client Consulting & Advisory Support HR technology assessments to identify gaps across payroll, HRIS, and benefits administration systems • Gather and document client requirements, current state processes, and future state goals • Assist in developing vendor shortlists and coordinating evaluation activities, including demos and feedback collection • Contribute to client deliverables, including summaries, recommendations, and comparison tools • Help maintain momentum across engagements by tracking timelines, follow-ups, and next steps • Broker Partnership & Enablement Partner with HCMU sellers and senior consultants to support broker agency relationships • Serve as a resource to BAM agencies by providing HR tech insights, research, and supporting materials • Assist in preparing and delivering education sessions, playbooks, and client-facing content • Contribute to sales enablement efforts, including development of one-pagers, case studies, presentations, and toolkits • Vendor & Market Intelligence Build knowledge of the HR and benefits technology landscape, including vendor capabilities and service models • Conduct research on vendor functionality, integrations, and positioning • Support the development of vendor comparisons and client recommendations • Participate in vendor meetings and demos to stay current on market trends • Practice Development & Content Creation Contribute to the development of internal tools, templates, and best practices • Support creation of thought leadership content, including articles, presentations, and client materials • Assist in building scalable resources that support both client delivery and broker enablement • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency and quality across deliverables
Role Description We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented individual to join our team as a Human Resources Specialist I. This is an entry-level role within our Managed HR Services organization, supporting multiple client companies through a fractional HR service model. This position is ideal for an early-career HR professional who is eager to build foundational HR experience while working in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. The HR Specialist I provides day-to-day HR administrative and operational support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a high level of client service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Prioritize and manage multiple client accounts efficiently, ensuring consistency and high-quality. - Deliver HR services across all client accounts, including but not limited to: - General HR Administration - On/offboarding Management - Compliance Assistance - LOA - Handbook/Policy Development - Performance Management - SOP creation - Develop and maintain strong client relationships and foster trust and confidence, proactive communication, and responsiveness. - Work closely with Project Managers, Client Relationship Managers, and/or Technical Account Managers to understand client deliverables and provide regular and detailed status updates, ensuring transparency and accountability. - Collaborate with internal team members to identify opportunities for process improvement. - Leverage HR experience to anticipate future challenges and proactively address any issues that may arise. - Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction. - Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in HR. - Serve as a first point of escalation for employee relations concerns and coach managers through early-stage issues. - Conduct initial fact-finding for low-risk investigations and prepare summaries for HR leadership. - Provide guidance to managers on progressive discipline, performance documentation, and policy interpretation. - Support change management efforts during HR program rollouts by preparing guides, FAQs, or micro-trainings. - Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications - Prior experience working in a multi-client environment is required. - Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field. - Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in HR Generalist, Specialist, Consultant, or Business Partner roles, preferably in a client-facing capacity. - Proven track record of successfully managing multiple client accounts and projects simultaneously. - Comprehensive understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations. - Prior Payroll/Benefits processing experience a plus. - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels. - Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. - Professional certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP are a plus. Requirements - The hourly range for this position is $22 - $24. This range is based on relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and market data, and represents our good faith estimate at the time of posting.
