Role Description GoodPower is an evidence-based, nimble, and adaptive organization that routinely evaluates our programs to measure impact. Over the last decade, we have continually tested and refined our approach, and have successfully built a set of program offerings that blend cost-efficiency, rigor, scale, and measurable impact. Our programs have demonstrated success through external evaluation, including with partners at Stanford, Yale, and George Mason Universities. We also collaborate regularly with research partners such as Analyst Institute, GrowProgress, One Minus Beta, and Tufts University’s Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning and Engagement (CIRCLE). The Chief Research Officer (CRO) will direct GoodPower’s Good Data Lab, our in-house empirical research lab. The CRO will work internally with staff, in collaboration with partners, and alongside vendors to design, launch and implement research studies with the goal of understanding how to effectively communicate and increasing GoodPower’s efficacy across a wide variety of key impact areas, including: - Issue awareness and persuasion - Issue and advocacy engagement - Attitude and behavior change - Civic participation The CRO oversees in-house research, experimentation, and evaluation, including but not limited to: - Message-testing experiments with diverse audiences in rural, urban, and international geographies on a variety of energy, economic, and political issues - Randomized control trials to increase the impact of our voter registration and GOTV programs - Evaluations of programs to determine if they are ready for scale - Surveys and focus groups to understand the perspectives and motivations of key audience segments This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer. Travel will be required to departmental meetings, staff retreats, and other events to represent the department and organization. Job Summary In this position, the Digital Advertising Associate will work to advance the programmatic and strategic growth of GoodPower through implementing, managing, and improving GoodPower’s paid advertising campaign strategies in key states and nationally. They will work to strengthen GoodPower’s role and impact in advocating for an end to the era of fossil fuels, a swift and equitable transition to renewable energy, and an increase in diverse youth participation in our democracy as well as devise creative strategies to inoculate persuadable audiences for GoodPower’s current and future white label entities. This is a future-facing role for an ads expert who thrives at the convergence of digital innovation, audience segmentation, and data-driven campaign performance. This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States. The Digital Advertising Associate will work from home, meet regularly by video chat with GoodPower team members and partners, and conduct the majority of activities both online and in-person, when safe. The Digital Advertising Associate must be available for travel within the United States to participate in staff retreats and/or conferences. Key Responsibilities - Campaign Strategy & Management - Design, launch, and manage digital and traditional advertising campaigns across multiple platforms (Meta, Google Ads, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Twitch, audio, programmatic DSPs, and terrestrial media). - Develop budgets and paid media plans; monitor performance to ensure delivery of key metrics. - Manage audiences, targeting, creative assets, and tracking systems to optimize performance. - Creative Development & Optimization - Write and refine ad copy; collaborate with vendors and staff to produce engaging creatives. - Build and optimize action pages to drive list growth, conversions, and lower cost-per-lead. - Leverage retargeting and segmentation to increase retention and campaign effectiveness. - Implement new tracking and reporting methods to enhance performance insights. - Cross-Departmental Collaboration - Partner with program and campaign teams to align advertising with organizational priorities (e.g., voter registration, siting & permitting, clean energy acceleration, IRA defense, workforce development, and white-label initiatives). - Support the development team with funder collateral, including campaign impact reports and presentations. - Coordinate with communications and compliance teams to ensure proper C3/C4 activity reporting. - Data, Insights & Innovation - Monitor and analyze KPIs; provide actionable recommendations for optimization. - Research and test innovative strategies to expand reach, engagement, and efficiency. - Stay current on audience sentiment, platform innovations, and industry trends Qualifications Minimum Qualifications - 3 plus years of experience in the digital marketing or digital organizing field - Strong analytical skills with the ability to set priorities, and complete work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision - Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills - Self-starter with strong organizational skills and creativity and can take big-picture strategy and couple it with strategic implementation. - Familiarity with digital tools (eg. Job Summary The Membership Mobilization Manager works to advance GoodPower’s work to accelerate a renewable energy economy through building a membership engagement program across GoodPower and its independent sub-brands who are primed to take high level actions from attending and organizing events in their communities, mobilizing others, calling and writing to elected leaders, submitting public comments, testifying before government bodies, writing op-eds and letters to the editor, engaging in their communities, and sharing their stories. The Manager spearheads the membership and in-list communications plan, rooted in deep understanding of the various audiences and what most effectively motivates action, how to leverage members to take online and offline actions, and tailors strategies, messages, and action opportunities for each audience to advance GoodPower’s mission and goals. This is a full time, remote position based anywhere in the United States. The Membership Mobilization Manager will work from home, meet regularly by video chat with GoodPower team members, partners and youth, and conduct activities both online and in-person. The Membership Mobilization Manager must be available for regular travel within the United States to participate in conferences, select actions, events, and to attend staff retreats. This position reports to the Head of Policy and Public Relations. Key Responsibilities Planning & Implementation Leads the launch of a new membership program, by spearheading the planning and execution of GoodPower’s and independent subbrands' membership and in-list communications strategy for regular engagement of audiences through action opportunities, wins and successes, and other interventions. Develops innovative approaches to and implements proven strategies to generate online and offline opportunities.
