Role Description The Application Engineer will oversee the application of new and in-service products used by our customers in the basic metals industry. This is a remote, field-based position supporting customers throughout the central and eastern United States. Candidates must reside within the following general region and be located within reasonable driving distance of a major airport: - Memphis, TN - St. Louis, MO - Chicago, IL - Detroit, MI - Pittsburgh, PA - Charlotte, NC - Birmingham, AL The primary activities will be to plan field trials in conjunction with the Fuchs sales force and customer prior to product introduction, including the setting of trial protocols, measurement of performance, and data collection over the course of the trial period. The position will also include periodic measurement of product groups already in service and recommending improvements in product performance. Specific responsibilities will include: - Lead field trials and technical evaluations for new and existing products, including troubleshooting performance issues and delivering clear, concise field reports. - Serve as the technical application expert for customers and internal teams by providing product recommendations, technical problem-solving, training, and application support. - Interface directly with customers to understand operational needs, support product approvals, strengthen long-term relationships, and demonstrate commitment to ongoing product development. - Partner closely with Sales, Product Management, and R&D to identify market-driven product opportunities, support new product development, and contribute to product launch initiatives. - Support strategic business development and sales efforts by delivering competitive market insights, technical expertise, and application knowledge to drive growth within target accounts. - Act as a key liaison between customers, sales, product management, and laboratory teams while contributing to cross-functional strategy development and project execution. Qualifications - A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Chemistry or Engineering is preferred, yet other degrees with demonstrated technical abilities will also be considered. - At least three years of experience within the basic metals or lubricants industries. - Working knowledge of basic metals facilities is an asset. - Knowledge of lubricant application, use, and maintenance in metal processing. - The ability to manage multiple priorities, make decisions with good judgment, think strategically to identify opportunities, and lead initiatives within a self-directed project team. - Excellent written and verbal communications skills. - Travel 70-80% requirement. • Achieving agreed sales targets by developing, maintaining and managing new business within the company’s mining product line throughout the region • Selling, marketing and promoting all the services and products offered by the company within the mining industry • Demonstrating the benefits of the company’s product line to customers through on-site visits at surface or underground mines • Ensuring sales forecasts and budgets are achieved • Managing existing and new accounts, ensuring a superior level of customer service and satisfaction • Preparing documentation and submissions for Tenders, Expressions of Interest and Requests For Information • Representing the company in industry events and tradeshows
Role Description The Service Manager plays a vital role in driving the execution of FUCHS digital and service solutions under the Smart Services product line in the US. Working closely with FUCHS’ Sales and Technical colleagues, the Service Manager will understand customer needs to facilitate profitable service solutions in their respective territory. Please note: The territory for this position includes North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and other potential states in the southern territory. The Service Manager provides relationship management alongside Sales with multiple customers in their respective territory. This is an important part of our growth strategy, and we are looking for someone that will bring the energy, enthusiasm, and results-focused approach necessary to meet our aggressive targets. - Smart Services account management - customer reporting and communication to ensure our service performance is achieving customer expectations. - Responsible for compliance of account to all service provision KPIs and divisional Smart Goals. - Day-to-day management of service supervisors and technicians. - Lead the development of new business opportunities with existing and new customers Smart Service and Product solutions. - Provide technical guidance related to our onsite services. - Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training of Service Technicians. - Meet and exceed fiscal targets assigned in your respective territory. - Cultivate strong team relationships that encourage team member development & retention. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline is required. - Exceptional communication skills. - Strong computer skills (MS Office). - Intense customer service/focus. - Strong technical knowledge of industrial process operations (waste water, wash systems, lubricants & lubrication). - Ability to travel approximately 50%. - Previous supervisory experience.
