Title: Billing Specialist Location: NY-Rochester Job Description: Job Type Full-time Description Billing Specialist – Rochester, NY Lead project billing operations supporting transportation, civil infrastructure, land development, engineering, and multidisciplinary design projects across our locations using Deltek Vantagepoint, project accounting, and client-focused financial coordination. Serve as a key financial partner supporting Project Managers, project delivery teams, and operational leadership through accurate client invoicing, WIP management, project financial reporting, revenue tracking, and AEC project billing oversight in a fast-paced consulting environment. What You’ll Do - Manage the full project billing cycle, including contract interpretation, project setup review, invoice preparation, reconciliations, and financial reporting using Deltek Vantagepoint and Microsoft Office tools. - Partner closely with Project Managers to deliver accurate, client-ready invoices, job cost reporting, and financial summaries that support successful project delivery and decision-making. - Support strong project financial performance by monitoring accounts receivable, assisting with soft collections, and ensuring timely submission and accuracy of timesheets, expense reports, and accounting documentation. - Collaborate across departments to resolve billing discrepancies, support client and vendor needs, and maintain smooth financial operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. - Contribute to broader accounting and operational success through cross-functional support, ad hoc financial projects. Requirements What We’re Looking For - Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field. - 3-5 years of billing, project accounting, or professional services invoicing experience. - Deltek Vantagepoint software experience strongly preferred. - Experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel. - Experience supporting engineering, architecture, consulting, construction, or professional services environments preferred. - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, communication, and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced project environment. • Lead HV substation engineering (69 kV–345 kV+) for transmission, interconnection, and utility projects • Serve as senior technical authority for HV substation design and engineering • Oversee QA/QC for drawings, calculations, studies, and IFC packages • Design and review substation layouts, electrical schematics, grounding, conduit routing, lightning protection, and P&C interfaces • Perform and review power system studies including load flow, short circuit, grounding, protection coordination, arc flash, insulation coordination, voltage drop, and ampacity • Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, NERC, utility standards, and permitting requirements • Interface with utilities and ISOs on interconnection requirements, SCADA/telecom integration, protection philosophies, energization, and commissioning • Mentor and train engineers and designers, ensuring technical accuracy and quality deliverables • Support proposal development with scopes, assumptions, and cost estimates • Support construction and field engineering, including site visits and as-built documentation • Drive process improvements, standards development, and adoption of new tools and technologies

• Lead medium-voltage (MV) electrical engineering design for renewable energy projects including solar PV, BESS, and wind • Provide senior technical leadership and serve as a subject matter expert for electrical engineering teams • Oversee QA/QC reviews of electrical designs, calculations, redlines, and construction deliverables • Mentor engineers and drafters, ensuring technical accuracy and high-quality drawing production • Collaborate with Project Managers, Technical Leads, and multi-discipline teams across all project phases • Develop scopes of work, technical specifications, and phased design packages (30%, 60%, IFC) • Perform and review electrical calculations including load flow, short circuit, grounding, protective coordination, ampacity, voltage drop, and equipment sizing • Apply expertise in MV collection systems with working knowledge of HV substations and gen-tie systems • Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, NERC, utility standards, and permitting requirements • Support proposals with engineering scopes, design assumptions, and cost estimates • Conduct power system and interconnection studies (CESIR, SIS, BOP solutions) • Support construction with field engineering, site visits, and as-built reviews • Drive continuous improvement through updated standards, processes, and engineering tools
