• Own the developer experience across tooling, AI integration, CI/CD, and governance • Set platform standards to improve speed, quality, and consistency • Drive adoption of AI‑native SDLC practices and improve engineering velocity • Lead architecture for shared infrastructure, observability, deployment, and APIs • Build and lead the Platform Engineering team • Develop talent and foster a culture of reliability, automation, and craftsmanship • Represent Platform Engineering across Product, IT, and executive leadership • Partner with engineering leadership on long-term technology strategy • Own platform reliability, including SLOs, on-call, and incident management • Define observability and alerting standards across systems • Align with IT on boundaries between platform, infrastructure, and security • Evaluate and implement tools and practices to improve productivity • Drive AI engineering transformation, including AI-assisted development and testing • Advise on platform strategy, architecture, and technical diligence
• Own the technical direction of Emergent’s DevOps practice, including the IaC standards, pipeline patterns, code review expectations, and reference architectures that the team applies across client engagements. • Author and maintain the internal documentation, templates, and modules that the team relies on day to day. This is a core part of the role, not a side task. • Mentor a team of engineers from mixed backgrounds, including software developers growing into cloud roles and traditional cloud engineers building DevOps fluency. Pair, review pull requests, run office hours, and raise the technical bar across the group. • Lead the most complex DevOps engagements end to end, from discovery through delivery, with a focus on environments where scale, regulatory requirements, or legacy constraints demand strong technical judgment. This includes grooming backlog work and feature & task assignments to project team as well as influence technical direction across practice areas. • Represent the DevOps practice in pre-sales. Partner with sales and account teams to scope work, lead technical discovery sessions, contribute to proposals, and build client confidence in Emergent’s approach. • Continuously evolve Emergent’s DevOps practice by evaluating new tools, patterns, and approaches, and bringing the right ones into the team’s standard playbook. • Diagnose and improve existing client systems that may be partially implemented or inconsistently managed, balancing pragmatic delivery with long-term maintainability. • Accurately track time and work performed to support client billing, project planning, and overall project health, as part of a professional services delivery model. • Strong time management skills to be able to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and provide technical support and guidance for other DevOps focused team members. • Share your knowledge at regular talk shop and lunch & learn sessions to help build a stronger team.
• Design and deliver Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio solutions tied to real business processes and workflows • Lead scoping and discovery conversations with prospective clients, translating business goals and pain points into defined project scope, timelines, and deliverable frameworks • Contribute to pre-sales efforts including solution architecture reviews, proposal development, and client-facing presentations that demonstrate technical credibility • Identify where AI and automation can add genuine value for clients, then build it • Lead training sessions for both technical teams and business users across Copilot and Microsoft 365 • Design and configure SharePoint Online environments: site structure, permissions, and information architecture • Support SharePoint migrations and document management initiatives with usability and governance in mind • Manage priorities across multiple active client engagements in a delivery-based model • Partner with senior engineers on complex solutions and contribute to shared team knowledge across all areas of Modern Work • Communicate technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders at any level of technical depth • Monitor Microsoft's Modern Work roadmap and help translate emerging capabilities into proactive client recommendations and internal practice development

• Collaborate with the agile team to design test cases for user stories and features. • Develop automated testing scenarios to evaluate new development. • Perform manual testing against acceptance criterion throughout the life of software projects. • Document and interpret results of testing, creating bugs and documenting future remediation work. • Report and track issues accurately and effectively. • Evaluate mid-project changes for testing impact. • Help improve QA processes making them more robust and efficient. • Work directly with clients to coordinate their User-Acceptance Testing (UAT).
