• Support the month-end close process across multiple CPG client engagements — prepare journal entries and schedules • Review and provide feedback on the work of Senior and Staff Accountants, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client-specific accounting policies • Perform and review inventory accounting, including COGS reconciliation, landed cost tracking, purchase order matching, and inventory reserve analysis • Review and reconcile trade spend activity — including slotting fees, promotional allowances, co-op advertising, and retailer deductions • Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor/customer subledger reconciliations across multiple sales channels (DTC, Amazon, wholesale) • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly financial packages, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements with supporting variance commentary • Oversee data flows and reconciliations between platforms such as Shopify and Amazon Seller Central and accounting systems (QBO, NetSuite), flagging discrepancies for resolution • Help prepare client books for audits, lender reporting, and investor data requests • Identify workflow gaps and escalate recommendations for process improvements, chart of accounts structure, and system configurations to the Controller or engagement lead • Collaborate with client contacts on purchase order workflows, 3PL reconciliations, and inventory cycle counts
