About the Position The Researcher, Emerging Technologies, is responsible for developing an evidence base for the Research team’s efforts to operationalize, scale and sustain Digital Promise’s commitment to merging tech in classrooms, and specifically the organization’s AI Literacy initiative. The Researcher will support the vision and strategy for the development and implementation of curricular and pedagogical resources, as well as the relevant learning experiences that build capacity for AI Literacy in PreK-12 education. The Researcher will coordinate internally and externally with a range of partners to design, deliver, and facilitate these resources and learning experiences for educators, learners, communities, and edtech providers that spread and advance AI Literacy, in alignment with the work of the Powerful Learning Research team. The Researcher reports directly to the Deputy Director of PL Research. This position is a term-limited opportunity for 18 months, with the potential for conversion to a full-time employee or contract employee role upon successful completion of the term. Responsibilities - Drive Equitable AI Literacy Implementation: Support the development of AI Literacy resources, their implementation in the classroom, and the strategic dissemination and integration of these resources in learning environments. Ensure these resources are implemented equitably and thoughtfully, with a focus on benefiting students historically excluded from traditional educational systems. - Foster Collaboration & Learning: Collaborate internally with the Practice and EdTech teams, Digital Promise colleagues and externally with partners to foster a collaborative environment for innovation. This may include co-hosting workshops, facilitating knowledge sharing, and connecting focal audiences across the emerging technology landscape. - Measure Impact & Advocate for Change: Co-design metrics of evaluation to track and analyze the impact of AI Literacy resources and professional learning on learning experiences and outcomes. Continuously utilize this data to advocate for the effective and equitable development of AI Literacy learning experiences in education. - Bridge the gap between developers of cutting-edge technologies and schools: Co-design implementation plans and supports for integrating AI Literacy into teaching and learning. - Lead Cross-functional AI Literacy Initiatives: Collaborate across Digital Promise and with additional subject matter experts to create and facilitate learning experiences that drive district, teacher, and student adoption of emerging technologies, including AI Literacy, in safe and equitable ways. - Develop Resources: Create resources for schools, districts, and students that help them to use, understand and evaluate emerging technologies in equitably, thoughtfully, and powerful ways, including resources to support the adoption of Digital Promise and non-profit driven quality indicators. - Host virtual and in person convenings: Facilitate peer-to-peer learning across districts, schools, edtech, and researchers. - Budget Management: Collaborate with the Operations team on project operations and budgeting, to include expense and revenue management and knowledge management. - External Communications: Partner with the Communications team to represent Digital Promise through presentations at national conferences, authoring blogs and reports, and managing the public sharing of AI Literacy project stories, outputs, and learnings. - Monitor Evolving Innovations in Emerging Technologies: Stay current with the latest trends, research, and advancements in AI Literacy and emerging fields, analyzing their potential impact on education and recommending actionable strategies to support emerging technology and edtech implementation. - Commitment to Equity in Education Outcomes: Deep commitment to eliminating opportunity and achievement gaps for historically and systematically excluded learners. - Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Strong understanding of the challenges faced by historically and systematically excluded communities and experience leading design of inclusive solutions for and with diverse participants. Qualifications - Education: A master’s degree or higher in Education, Learning Technologies, Emerging Technologies, Instructional Design, or a related field. Doctorate in aforementioned areas preferred. - Experience: 5+ years of work experience in education, including classroom, digital learning, and learning technologies. - - Experience leading and managing Implementation projects, preferably in the education sector. - Public and presentation track record in emerging technologies, and specifically around the use of generative AI tools to support PK-12 learners - Demonstrated experience effectively supporting teams in developing and implementing Implementation processes resulting in the creation of solutions (programs, curriculum, tools, etc…). - Demonstrated experience and knowledge in developing, implementing and facilitating project management process, human-centered design, technical and non-technical solution design and development. - Ability to execute on high-value and high-visibility deliverables (tools, reports, presentations) for internal and external audiences, with attention to detail and excellence. - Experience managing multi-stakeholder projects, including program design and evaluation. - Demonstrated knowledge of the education sector, and specifically the marketplace of education solutions and new models for researching and designing education programs and products. - Experience developing partnerships; managing medium to large-scale projects and delivering outputs on time and on budget; and working with and managing multiple external stakeholders - Demonstrated commitment to personal reflection on equity-centered ways of being, mindsets, and ways of working. A commitment to advocating for equity in education and an understanding of communicating to and with diverse audiences. - Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions - Ability to travel to school districts and to Implementation convenings, education conferences, and critical stakeholder meetings as required - A passion for learning, a team mentality, creativity, and a positive “can-do” “yes-and” spirit. Working Conditions Digital Promise Global is a hybrid organization. Employees are expected to travel at least 4 times a year for in-person meetings and the annual staff retreat. Role Description The Senior Director of Career Pathways Growth & Partnerships is a senior leader within Digital Promise’s Center for Learner Pathway Innovations (CLPI) who will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the Center’s national strategy for high-quality career pathways across K-12, postsecondary, and adult learning systems. This role focuses on four primary drivers of organizational success: - Resource development - Strategic partnerships - State-level systems change and policy influence This includes driving the expansion of statewide and regional pathways initiatives; cultivating and stewarding high-value partnerships; mobilizing resources and funding to support long-term scale; and helping to position CLPI as a trusted advisor, connector, and field-building leader on the national stage. The Senior Director will lead a team and collaborate with CLPI leadership and other team members, reporting to the Chief Innovation Officer within the CLPI.
