Role Description Creek Technologies (CreekTech) is actively seeking highly motivated, part-time remote adjunct professors to teach General Education courses at the US Naval Community College (USNCC). Courses include: - English: - 18 graduate credit hours in English, composition, mass comm - Postsecondary English teaching / post-secondary writing center experience - Introductory courses in English, academic or technical writing, and written communication - Critical Thinking: - Master's Degree; Preferred earned PhD Degree in either philosophy, rhetoric, communication, psychology, or general humanities - Introductory courses in logic, critical thinking, psychology, philosophy, and rhetoric - Math: - MS degree in Math, Statistics or related field from an accredited institution with minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the subject - Introductory college math courses such as finite math, intro to statistics, algebra, pre-calc, etc., in an asynchronous online format - Science: - MS degree in an engineering or physical science field (physics, chemistry, geology, etc.) from an accredited institution with minimum 18 graduate credit hours in the subject field - Introductory college-level natural science courses, such as: physics, chemistry, geology, oceanology, etc., in an online format Key Responsibilities: - Must possess a computer, fast and reliable internet access, and corporate e-mail to facilitate communication with students, faculty, and the BB LMS - Online teaching experience: Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred. The large majority of Contractor provided faculty shall have taught at least one (1) semester-equivalent online higher education course at an accredited college/university, with experience teaching in the field of study strongly preferred - Military experience: Prior experience as a Service member or as a civilian employee of the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) is preferred, specifically in a military education institution - Experience with online Learning Management Systems (LMS). Adjunct faculty shall have prior experience in Blackboard LMS or similar (LMS) - Shall be available to teach courses across multiple terms - Shall provide robust, timely and specific written feedback using USNCC rubrics and provide appropriate written feedback (and digital formats such as video/audio, as supported in the LMS) on drafts and papers - Shall provide information on missing, incomplete, or disputed grades. The reporting format shall comply as defined in the USNCC Faculty Handbook, to be provided as GFI after contract award. USNCC technical point of contact (TPOC) and USNCC full time faculty will resolve incomplete grades with concerned student in accordance with USNCC academic policy. USNCC TPOC and course leads will coordinate with instructors to create an approved plan for student completion of all incomplete grades that may require additional instruction by USNCC full time faculty. Role Description Creek Technologies (CreekTech) is actively seeking highly motivated, part-time remote adjunct professors to teach Naval Studies courses at the US Naval Community College (USNCC). - Courses: - NAV 101: Military ethics, philosophy, leadership, law (post JD degree, such as, LLM in military law), U.S. history, and political science. - NAV 102: U.S. History, military history, government, strategic studies, and public policy. - NAV 103: U.S. national security studies, American government, political science, organizational design, naval engineering, and systems engineering. - NAV 104: U.S. national security studies, American government and politics, comparative politics, public policy, public administration, and American history. - NAV 105: Political science, comparative politics, international relations, and U.S. security studies. Key Responsibilities - Course Delivery: - Deliver USNCC courses virtually via LMS (currently Blackboard) in an asynchronous format. - Follow USNCC academic calendar and course syllabi. - Course Structure & Materials: - Courses are generally 8 weeks long, equivalent to 3 semester hours. - Use provided course core shell (includes instructional materials, lectures, assignments, discussion topics). - Supplement core materials by 10–15% maximum with current events or relevant experiences. - Ensure all supplemental materials comply with copyright laws and receive pre-approval from USNCC Dean/Associate Dean. - Follow USNCC Academic and IT policies. - All developed/uploaded materials become Government property. - Instructional Responsibilities: - Present courses effectively, adapting teaching methods to special requirements. - Facilitate threaded discussions, student project development, student research, and student writing and presentations. - Ensure responses and presentations are well-reasoned and well-researched. - Stay up-to-date with Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard doctrine and scientific advancements. - Student Progress Tracking: - Use USNCC Instruction Rubric and LMS tools to track grades, assignment quality, and timeliness weekly. - Identify struggling or at-risk students and follow up proactively. - Notify USNCC of all at-risk students via LMS process. - Report student progress regularly to students and bi-weekly to USNCC lead faculty, Academic Affairs, and Student Services. - Provide oral reports in meetings as requested. - Grading: - Complete grading and record final grades in LMS within 5 business days of course end. - Provide robust written feedback using USNCC rubrics. - Address missing, incomplete, or disputed grades per USNCC Faculty Handbook. - Collaborate with USNCC TPOC and Course Leads on resolving incomplete grades. - Communication & Responsiveness: - Communicate only via LMS or corporate email (no personal channels). - Respond to student inquiries the same day when possible, or within 24 hours on weekdays. - Provide feedback on written assignments within 96 business hours. - Engage in threaded discussions to encourage dialogue and critical thinking. - Compliance: - Adhere to USNCC policies, SOPs, and Department of Navy/DoD standards. - No default advising or mentoring duties beyond supporting enrolled students. Qualifications - Academically Qualified (AQ) instructors shall have a minimum of a master’s degree (doctorate degree preferred) in an appropriate field of study, with at least 16 hours of credit in the relevant field(s): U.S. History, military history, government, strategic studies, and defense policy. - Professionally Qualified (PQ) faculty will have significant and substantive relevant experience in a military or related setting, typically including at least 5-10 years of direct field experience, with several years at a leadership level in the specific course area being taught. Role Description Creek Technologies is seeking a highly qualified Occupational Safety Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the National Guard Bureau (NGB) Mishap Prevention Campaign. The Occupational Safety SME will provide expert-level occupational safety analysis, mishap prevention support, risk management recommendations, trend analysis, and strategic safety program support in alignment with the Air Force Safety Management System (AFSMS) Assurance and Promotion framework. This position directly supports ANG Safety and NGB Space Operations initiatives focused on reducing mishaps, improving organizational safety culture, identifying systemic risk trends, and advancing proactive mishap prevention across geographically dispersed operations. - Provide occupational safety expertise supporting mishap prevention, safety assurance, and risk mitigation initiatives across the Air National Guard enterprise. - Analyze occupational safety data, mishap reports, hazard trends, and operational risk indicators to identify emerging safety concerns and recommend corrective actions. - Support development and execution of safety promotion campaigns, educational products, and strategic communication initiatives. - Conduct research and analysis related to occupational safety policies, procedures, standards, and best practices applicable to military and aviation environments. - Assist with development of briefings, reports, dashboards, executive summaries, and decision-support products for Government leadership. - Collaborate with Government personnel, safety offices, analysts, and other SMEs to support enterprise-level safety initiatives and special projects. - Support data-driven safety assessments using qualitative and quantitative analytical methods. - Participate in meetings, working groups, and safety program reviews with Government stakeholders. - Provide technical recommendations to improve safety processes, hazard reporting, trend analysis, and mishap prevention effectiveness. - Support preparation of recurring contract deliverables, including monthly status reporting and operational updates. - Maintain accurate documentation and records within approved contract repositories and collaboration environments. - Support travel requirements and onsite engagements as necessary in support of contract objectives. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, Human Factors, Risk Management, Public Health, Aviation Safety, or related field. - Minimum 10 years of occupational safety experience supporting military, aviation, industrial, government, or large enterprise environments. - Demonstrated experience performing safety trend analysis, hazard identification, mishap prevention, and risk mitigation activities. - Experience supporting enterprise safety management systems or comparable organizational safety frameworks. - Strong analytical, communication, and technical writing skills. - Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, collaboration platforms, and data analysis tools. - Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment while supporting geographically dispersed teams. - Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation and Government system access. Preferred Qualifications - Prior Air Force, Air National Guard, DoD, FAA, OSHA, or military safety program experience. - Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar professional certification. - Experience supporting aviation or operational safety investigations. - Familiarity with Air Force Safety Automated System (AFSAS) or similar safety reporting systems. - Experience developing executive-level reports, safety briefings, and strategic communications products. - Experience supporting Safety Management System (SMS) implementation or continuous improvement initiatives. Work Location - Remote support authorized with periodic travel as required by contract performance needs.
