Field Application Engineer – Strategic SiC Power Platforms

• Act as the global technical lead for assigned West Coast customers supporting Wolfspeed SiC programs. • Coordinate cross-regional FAE, sales, and engineering teams to ensure consistent messaging and execution. • Support scalable platform adoption across multiple geographies and manufacturing sites. • Drive alignment between customer design teams and Wolfspeed product, quality, and operations teams. • Provide system-level guidance on: SiC MOSFET and module implementation, Switching optimization and gate drive design, Thermal performance and power density optimization, EMI mitigation and layout best practices. • Influence early architecture decisions to maximize SiC performance advantages. • Identify and drive platform-level opportunities across a broad customer base. • Promote design reuse and scalable architectures across Automotive, Energy, and AI infrastructure programs. • Support AI data center power transitions toward higher efficiency and higher switching frequencies enabled by SiC. • Collaborate closely with Device Engineering, Product Marketing, Quality & Reliability, Operations, Supply Chain and Capacity Planning. • Proactively manage escalations, risk mitigation, and design validation activities. • Provide structured feedback into Wolfspeed’s product roadmap based on end-market insights. • Lead technical design reviews, workshops, and failure analysis discussions. • Support customer audits and executive technical engagements. • Travel internationally as needed to support key customer milestones and strategic programs.

• Partner with Sales Account Managers to secure design wins and support revenue growth. • Qualify customer opportunities and assess the suitability of SiC power devices for their applications. • Provide pre‑sales technical support to demonstrate system‑level benefits and communicate the value of SiC solutions. • Support customers throughout the entire design cycle—from samples and prototypes to pilot, pre‑production, and full production—including hardware debug and system‑level guidance. • Support quality team on customer claims to determine root causes of field application failures. • Use strong technical knowledge to address field requests with minimal support from factory engineering. • Manage and train distribution FAEs to ensure consistent technical capability across the channel. • Maintain effective communication with business unit teams to address customer technical requests. • Deliver customer feedback and application insights to Marketing to support new product development. • Leverage our Munich Lab to identify best practices for SiC component usage and generate new technical knowledge.
