Role Description CinemaTech, a leader in high-end luxury home theaters, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Drafter to join our team. This person will support and collaborate closely with our Lead Theater Designers to deliver highly detailed technical drawings and plans. Your expertise will ensure that our world-class theaters are executed with flawless precision, contributing to the immersive and luxurious experience our clients expect. This position can be located in Addison, TX, can be contract work, full time and remote. Pay will reflect details above. Please submit a copy of your portfolio with your resume if available. Qualifications - Associate’s degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, Interior Design, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree is a plus. - 2 years of experience of CAD Drafting is required. Experience in interior design, architectural design or a related field is a plus. - Proficiency in AutoCAD is required (Advanced). - 3DS Max and V-Ray experience (a Plus). - Knowledge or experience in residential theater market and Audio Video systems (a Plus). - Able to read, interpret and follow documentation including, but not limited to; construction drawings, specifications, installation manuals, procedural documents, schematics, diagrams, charts and graphs. - Exceptional precision and attention to detail in drafting and technical documentation. - Ability to clearly communicate technical details and collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, and project teams. - Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment. - Strong ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Requirements - Create accurate and detailed theater design concepts, including schematics, room layouts, seating configurations, details, and construction documentation, ensuring that all documents align with project standards. - Generate dimensioned and annotated plans, elevations, sections, details, 3D views, schedules, etc. - Research, read and interpret product specifications, diagrams, schematics, graphs, charts, installation manuals, and other documentation to incorporate into designs. - Identify construction and equipment detailing challenges on projects, find solutions and effectively document them in the construction drawing sets. - Work closely with our theater designers to translate design concepts into technical drawings. - Maintain communication with the team to ensure a seamless coordinated effort. - Contribute to the ongoing creation and management of our CAD libraries and standards. - Assist in the coordination of theater designs with other systems such as lighting, audio, video, automation, and acoustics, ensuring seamless integration across all project components. - Aid in the review and refinement of design plans throughout the project lifecycle, making updates as necessary to meet client expectations and project requirements. - Stay informed on the latest drafting techniques, theater design trends, and technological advancements applicable to the residential theater industry to enhance the quality and efficiency of your work. - Need to be able to meet deadlines and produce work in a timely, set manner. - Plus but not required – ability to do 3D Max Renderings. Role Description CinemaTech is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Residential CAD Designer to support our luxury residential design team. This role focuses on producing accurate, professional construction drawings and technical documentation for high-end home theaters, media rooms, and specialty residential spaces. The ideal candidate has strong AutoCAD experience, understands residential construction, and enjoys collaborating with designers, project managers, and field teams to bring complex projects to life. This is not purely a drafting role. The strongest candidates for this position are individuals who enjoy the balance of: - Technical documentation - Design collaboration - Project coordination You will work closely with designers, builders, consultants, and internal teams to help translate design intent into thoughtful, buildable solutions for luxury residential environments. What You’ll Do - Drafting & Documentation - Create clear, accurate, and organized AutoCAD drawing packages for luxury residential projects - Develop floor plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, sections, details, and schedules - Translate design concepts into buildable construction documentation - Revise and update drawings based on internal reviews, consultant coordination, and field conditions - Assist in maintaining company CAD standards, templates, blocks, and drawing libraries - Design & Technical Coordination - Incorporate audio/video systems, acoustical treatments, lighting, and custom furniture into project drawings - Coordinate with interior designers, architects, builders, and AV professionals - Review product specifications, shop drawings, installation manuals, and technical documentation - Help identify design conflicts and contribute to practical, real-world solutions - Support the design team with material research, finish selections, and product coordination - Design & Administrative Support - Assist the design team with material, finish, and sample coordination - Pull, organize, and ship samples for client presentations and project needs - Help organize project details, specifications, and internal documentation - Project Support - Participate in internal and external project meetings as requested - Maintain organized project files and documentation - Track progress, revisions, and time allocation accurately - Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail Qualifications - 2–10+ years of experience in residential drafting, technical design, interior architecture, or construction documentation - Advanced AutoCAD proficiency required - Experience working within a residential interior design studio, architecture firm, custom builder, or luxury residential environment strongly preferred - Strong understanding of residential construction methods, detailing, and drawing standards - Experience producing professional construction drawing packages and coordinating revisions - Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation - Experience with SketchUp, rendering software, or 3D modeling is a plus - Associate’s Degree, Technical Degree, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field preferred - Understanding of emerging AI tools and technology platforms that can improve drawing production, organization, efficiency, and workflow is a strong plus - Ability to produce high-quality technical drawings efficiently while contributing to improved systems, standards, and processes Candidate Profile - Strong technical production abilities and attention to detail - The ability to learn quickly and contribute efficiently - A proactive, solution-oriented mindset - Strong organizational and communication skills - Interest in improving systems, workflows, and team efficiency - The ability to balance technical documentation, design collaboration, and project coordination within a fast-paced luxury residential environment - Candidates with stronger luxury residential experience, technical coordination capabilities, and the ability to quickly contribute at a high level will be viewed favorably.
