Role Description The East of Rockies (EoR) Franchise Business Development Lead reports to the Franchise Market Development Manager and is responsible for growing the ampm franchise offer in new and existing markets in the EoR. This individual is accountable for the relationship management with existing customers who are eligible for contract renewal and all prospective new customers that inquire about the development of a ground-up, new-to-industry franchise or have a desire to brand an existing station to a franchise. This role works in close partnership with the Franchise Business Advisors and Branded Marketer Field Sales Specialists in each market, to develop joint account plans in order to maintain the existing customer base while growing the network. This is done through networking, relationship building, marketing and recruitment of desirable outlets for ampm sites. Key Accountabilities: - Complete the franchise strategy. - Develop a deep understanding of the value proposition of the franchise and be able to clearly communicate it to potential and existing franchisees. - Develop geography specific growth plan to underpin the franchise strategy, applying market insights, customer segmentation, and competitor analysis to determine size, scope, and approach to market entry and growth opportunities. - Recruit and support development of franchisees. - Develop joint account plans with other bp sales reps in defined geography to ensure that growth opportunities are cohesive and well understood. - Lead the sales efforts from initial contact with the prospective franchisee and dealer sites to completion of contract and site opening utilizing established CRM processes. - This role requires face-to-face consultations with prospective franchisees and involves spending up to 70% of the time in the field. - Identify and source potential new franchisees and dealers’ locations, maintain pipeline, and abide by sales protocols established by US convenience & mobility. - Represent the US convenience & mobility brand(s), build awareness in target regions, and demonstrate passion for growing the franchise business. - Attend trade shows and conduct market visits to build relationships with potential franchisees. - Meet Sales target in defined geographies as set by Franchise Market Development Manager. - Complete franchise systems and projects. - Continuously improve process opportunities and support of franchise growth. - Onboard franchisees and support them through the set-up activities. - Provide tools and templates to expedite onboarding process of franchisees. - Facilitate Franchise Disclosure Document updates. - Work with internal and external partners to secure approvals for new sites. - Prepare economic model and work with the finance team to ensure project exceeds investment framework. - Work with network planning to understand impacts of new sites to existing portfolio. - Work with the pre-construction team to select an Architecture & Engineering firm to prepare a bp approved site plan. - Lead renewal efforts of contracts on existing network of Franchise channel of trade. - Track when franchisees are approaching the end of contracts, and sell the value proposition that this franchise brings. - Cultivate a partnership with the RSM and FBAs to understand approach of franchisees prior to discussing renewal. - Lead organizational efforts for refresh offers for franchise renewals. - Lead negotiations with franchisee on funding required for asset enhancements on renewals. - Seek alignment with franchise leadership and operations on negotiated offer with comprehensive return on investment economic model. This role serves as a subject matter expert supporting the technical support help line, aids in the maintenance of and authors service documentation, and leads diagnostic access and tooling readiness and field quality initiatives. Grounded in BP’s Operating Management System (OMS) and TA’s Believe in Zero philosophy, the Specialist partners with Operations, Learning & Development, Parts, Warranty, and Vendor Management to improve first-time fix rates, reduce rework and warranty exposure, and elevate technician capability. Key Responsibilities Technical Operations & Safety - Provide advanced troubleshooting support through the technical help line, assisting field technicians and service leaders with diagnostics and repair direction. - Support case management processes, ensuring documentation quality and adherence to established SLAs. - Call out systemic or high-risk issues to the Technical Service Manager with recommended corrective actions. - Embed OMS principles and TS SOPs into daily support practices, championing safe work methods and risk reduction. - Support site leadership with technical audits and corrective actions to address quality or safety gaps. Service Documentation & Knowledge Management - Draft, revise, and maintain technical bulletins, repair procedures, diagnostic guides, and job aids. - Contribute to knowledge base development informed by field cases and root cause analyses. - Ensure documentation aligns with SOPs, OEM standards, compliance requirements, and OMS principles. Tools, Equipment & Diagnostics Readiness - Support evaluation, testing, and field validation of diagnostic software, tooling, and shop equipment. - Assist in maintaining compliance with licensing, access requirements, and platform updates. - Provide feedback to leadership regarding tool effectiveness, ROI, usability, and technician adoption. Quality, Safety & Compliance - Reinforce safe work practices aligned with OMS and Believe in Zero standards. - Participate in technical audits and assist in identifying quality or safety gaps. - Support corrective action plans focused on reducing rework, warranty exposure, and compliance risk. Training & Technical Enablement - Partner with Learning & Development to identify recurring technical gaps and support curriculum updates. - Deliver technical updates, micro-learning sessions, and field communications as assigned. - Support technician certification pathways and progression initiatives through technical expertise. - Serve as an emergency back-up instructor as needed. - Represent Truck Service in industry forums and events, as assigned. What We’d Like to See - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Strong analytical, facilitation, and customer management skills. - 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty truck service and repair (automotive-only backgrounds will not be considered). - ASE Master Medium/Heavy-Duty Certification or equivalent technical credential is strongly preferred. - Demonstrated hands-on diagnostic expertise in heavy-duty systems (powertrain, emissions, electrical). - Experience authoring technical documents, repair procedures, or service communications preferred. - Strong working knowledge of shop safety practices, OSHA, DOT compliance, and OMS frameworks. - Experience supporting technical help lines, critical issue processes, or centralized support functions preferred. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate field issues into structured solutions. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with limited oversight. - Travel requirement approximately 50–60%. - Valid driver’s license.
