This role transforms GIS from a map-making function into a decision-making platform by building an authoritative spatial data foundation, integrating with inspection, operations, and compliance systems, and delivering risk-based analytics that drive operational and integrity decisions. Reporting into the Integrity and Quality group the specialist will ensure the program stays operationally driven. They will design the enterprise data model and standards, build spatial dashboards, lead mobile field data collection workflows, and own the long-term capability roadmap from foundational centerline data through predictive analytics and digital twin integration. This is a greenfield opportunity to stand up a GIS program from the ground up within a growing midstream organization operating over 2,000 miles of gathering pipelines. The successful candidate will combine pipeline operations knowledge with enterprise GIS architecture skills to deliver measurable value across inspection planning, construction support, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Key Accountabilities - Design, build, and maintain the enterprise GIS data model for all midstream pipeline assets including accurate centerlines, pipe specifications, valve/fitting locations, and class location boundaries. - Digitize as-built drawings, survey data, and legacy records into the GIS platform, establishing a single authoritative source of pipeline spatial data. - Integrate GIS with operations data, inspection records (ILI, cathodic protection, leakage surveys), work order systems, and ERP platforms to enable cross-functional analysis. - Develop and maintain HCA (High Consequence Area) analysis, class location studies, and regulatory compliance workflows aligned with PHMSA, CFR 192, and CFR 195 requirements. - Lead mobile GIS field collection workflows, training field personnel on spatial data capture during construction, inspection, and maintenance activities. - Support construction and capital projects with route optimization, as-built capture at construction, and permitting efficiency through spatial analysis. - Establish and manage One-Call/811 integration and stand up a drone-based ROW inspection program for pipeline right-of-way monitoring. - Own the GIS capability maturity roadmap, progressing from foundational data (months 0–6) through integration, analysis, optimization, and enterprise-level digital twin capabilities. - Serve as the primary GIS vendor relationship owner, configuring web applications and dashboards. - Provide emergency response spatial support including rapid map generation, affected-area analysis, and proximity assessments during pipeline incidents. - Develop automated compliance reporting and spatial analytics using Python and SQL to reduce manual effort and improve data quality. - Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, construction, facility engineering, and project development teams to ensure GIS supports day-to-day decision-making. - Participate in bp technical networks and communities of practice, maintaining awareness of GIS industry advancements and best practices in pipeline spatial data management. - Follow bp's Engineering Principles, comply with bp's Code of Conduct, and model bp's Values & Behaviors Essential Experience and Education - Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline - 5–10 years of professional GIS experience, with at least 3 years supporting oil and gas pipeline or midstream operations. - Expert proficiency with Esri ArcGIS platform: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, Experience Builder, ArcGIS Field Maps, and ArcGIS Dashboards. - Strong working knowledge of FME, Python (ArcPy, Pandas, GeoPandas), and SQL for spatial data automation, ETL processes, and analysis. - In-depth understanding of pipeline systems including gathering, transmission, and facility infrastructure, and how GIS applies to integrity management. - Thorough understanding of Class and HCA calculations as they apply to CFR Parts 192 and 195, and familiarity with PHMSA regulatory requirements. - Experience integrating GIS with enterprise systems such as SCADA, inspection databases, work order management, and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP). - Experience building spatial risk models, dashboards, and decision-support tools for pipeline integrity and operations teams. - Knowledge of geodatabase design, enterprise data modeling, and spatial data standards for pipeline assets. - Experience with mobile GIS data collection platforms for field use (e.g., ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123). - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical GIS concepts for non-technical stakeholders. - Self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision in a cross-functional team environment. - Ability to travel to field locations in the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford as needed (approximately 10–20% travel). - Ability to spend time in the field with the team focused on safety leadership and execution performance How much do we pay (Base) $128,000-$151,000. Role Description The East of Rockies (EoR) Franchise Business Development Lead reports to the Franchise Market Development Manager and is responsible for growing the ampm franchise offer in new and existing markets in the EoR. This individual is accountable for the relationship management with existing customers who are eligible for contract renewal and all prospective new customers that inquire about the development of a ground-up, new-to-industry franchise or have a desire to brand an existing station to a franchise. This role works in close partnership with the Franchise Business Advisors and Branded Marketer Field Sales Specialists in each market, to develop joint account plans in order to maintain the existing customer base while growing the network. This is done through networking, relationship building, marketing and recruitment of desirable outlets for ampm sites. Key Accountabilities: - Complete the franchise strategy. - Develop a deep understanding of the value proposition of the franchise and be able to clearly communicate it to potential and existing franchisees. - Develop geography specific growth plan to underpin the franchise strategy, applying market insights, customer segmentation, and competitor analysis to determine size, scope, and approach to market entry and growth opportunities. - Recruit and support development of franchisees. - Develop joint account plans with other bp sales reps in defined geography to ensure that growth opportunities are cohesive and well understood. - Lead the sales efforts from initial contact with the prospective franchisee and dealer sites to completion of contract and site opening utilizing established CRM processes. - This role requires face-to-face consultations with prospective franchisees and involves spending up to 70% of the time in the field. - Identify and source potential new franchisees and dealers’ locations, maintain pipeline, and abide by sales protocols established by US convenience & mobility. - Represent the US convenience & mobility brand(s), build awareness in target regions, and demonstrate passion for growing the franchise business. - Attend trade shows and conduct market visits to build relationships with potential franchisees. - Meet Sales target in defined geographies as set by Franchise Market Development Manager. - Complete franchise systems and projects. - Continuously improve process opportunities and support of franchise growth. - Onboard franchisees and support them through the set-up activities. - Provide tools and templates to expedite onboarding process of franchisees. - Facilitate Franchise Disclosure Document updates. - Work with internal and external partners to secure approvals for new sites. - Prepare economic model and work with the finance team to ensure project exceeds investment framework. - Work with network planning to understand impacts of new sites to existing portfolio. - Work with the pre-construction team to select an Architecture & Engineering firm to prepare a bp approved site plan. - Lead renewal efforts of contracts on existing network of Franchise channel of trade. - Track when franchisees are approaching the end of contracts, and sell the value proposition that this franchise brings. - Cultivate a partnership with the RSM and FBAs to understand approach of franchisees prior to discussing renewal. - Lead organizational efforts for refresh offers for franchise renewals. - Lead negotiations with franchisee on funding required for asset enhancements on renewals. - Seek alignment with franchise leadership and operations on negotiated offer with comprehensive return on investment economic model. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or higher in business or a related field. - Experience in QSR / franchise brands, preferably in franchise sales. - Or experience in multi-site operations experience. - Strong advocacy and interpersonal skills (internal and with 3rd parties). - Ability to identify and develop new and non-traditional business opportunities, as well as new customers. - Strong negotiation skills. - Strong understanding of operational excellence and guest-impacting business practices. - Ability to manage difficult situations and conversations. - Ability to manage complex customers solving problems and creating “great outcome for everyone” solutions. - Establish shared ownership with cross-functional teams and branded marketers. - Tenacity in pursuing delivery of business results. - Knowledge of franchise business models, distributor businesses and B2B relationship management. - Ability to prioritize both business and organizational development. - Skillful use of MS Office Suite. - Ability to manage a sales pipeline through CRM resources, specifically Salesforce. - Capability to learn and use bp-specific websites and data sources. - Living the safety leadership principles. - Entrepreneurial attitude and competitive drive.
