Role Description We are seeking a commercial attorney with experience in renewable energy and battery storage offtake contracts. The Senior Counsel will support negotiation, execution, and enforcement of a variety of offtake contract structures for utility-scale standalone energy storage and solar-plus-storage projects. The candidate should be experienced in supporting offtake contracting of utility-scale battery energy storage projects and, ideally, have experience supporting other aspects of battery storage development, construction, financing, and/or operations. - Perform and oversee complex legal services to bid, structure, negotiate, execute, and enforce offtake agreements for utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable projects. - Serve as legal lead on commercial matters and assist the Commercial team in all major areas of negotiating and executing project offtake and related hedging agreements. - Enhance internal transaction processes and contract templates for efficiency and compliance. - Facilitate legal support for cross-functional teams as needed. - Oversee and manage external counsel on commercial matters. - Identify and succinctly communicate material risks and proposed solutions to Aypa’s General Counsel and other executives and team leads. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications - JD from an accredited law school. - Active bar licensure in at least one US jurisdiction. - 5+ years of post-qualification experience, with demonstrated experience in utility-scale battery energy storage and solar/hybrid offtake contracting. - Expertise negotiating and executing physical tolls, virtual PPAs, Resource Adequacy, and other capacity contracts. - Expertise interpreting and enforcing offtake contracts during project execution and operation. - Experience with master electric trading contracts (EEI), ISDAs, and other hedging structures preferred. - Additional experience supporting utility-scale battery storage development, construction, financing, and/or operations preferred. - Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency. - Excellent organizational and planning skills with meticulous attention to detail. - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. - Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills. - Highest standards of ethics and integrity. Role Description The Commissioning Manager will lead and coordinate commissioning activities across Aypa’s portfolio of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Solar PV, and hybrid projects. This role is highly cross-functional, interfacing with construction, engineering, operations, and external vendors to ensure safe, timely, and compliant commissioning of assets. - Lead commissioning efforts across multiple project sites, ensuring alignment with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements; - Collaborate with EPC vendors, OEMs, subcontractors, AHJs, and grid operators to plan and execute commissioning activities; - Review and validate commissioning test results and documentation from contractors and vendors; - Ensure completeness and accuracy of turnover packages; - Create and maintain standardized commissioning templates and tools to streamline workflows and reduce repetitive effort; - Work closely with Procurement, Pre-Construction, and Construction teams to review commissioning exhibits in contracts and support project execution; - Travel to project sites during critical commissioning phases to oversee testing and troubleshoot issues; - Support the handoff of commissioned assets to the Operations team, ensuring readiness and documentation compliance; - Other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications - 5 to 7 years of experience in commissioning of Utility Scale BESS, PV, and Hybrid projects; - Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a reputed/accredited university; - Proven experience with system-level testing and field operations; - Familiarity with ISO commissioning processes, such as ERCOT, CAISO, IESO and MISO, is a strong plus; - Strong technical understanding of solar and energy storage systems; - Strong understanding of SCADA and control systems as applicable to renewable energy plants; - Ability to think on your feet, adapt quickly, and lead cross-functional teams; - Experience managing contractors and coordinating with internal stakeholders; - Proficiency with tools like Procore and commissioning software platforms; - Familiarity with construction and design of BESS and PV projects. We seek an experienced Director of Development who will spearhead the development of utility-scale stand-alone energy storage from market assessment to site development and through financial close, throughout Aypa’s Central region, which includes MISO, SPP-East, ERCOT, and SERC. Responsibilities: - Serve as the company’s lead representative to landowners, local officials, and community members by conducting outreach and maintaining positive relationships to drive commercially successful project outcomes; - Navigate federal, state, and especially local permitting to obtain key discretionary and administrative approvals for projects; - Provide strategic guidance, analysis, and input on market opportunities as well as Areas of Interest (“AOI”) within markets that have been identified by and with the Commercial team; - Evaluate project viability within AOIs using GIS tools and other research (“fatal flaw” analyses) to target the best options for further pursuit; - Plan, pursue, and negotiate land contracts (e.g. Option to Purchase or Lease) with landowners; - Organize environmental studies (e.g. ESA Phase 1, Critical Issues Analysis, Permit Matrix, Wetland Delineation, etc.) along with Coordinate Surveys, Titles, and curative work, and interpret and communicate design constraints; - Project Management: Coordinate cross-functional teams, (e.g. legal, transmission, development engineering, pre-construction, offtake (PPA) origination, public affairs, finance, etc.)and external consultants to keep project development and commercialization on schedule; - Track and communicate project status and risks/mitigation and prepare budgets, schedules, and reporting; - Other duties as assigned or required. Role Description The Project Engineer will lead all of our commissioning efforts across our projects. This role will be responsible for all commissioning activities, including reviewing test results, liaising with contractors and vendors, and supporting the transition of projects from execution to operations. - Perform early-stage engineering for utility scale energy storage projects; - Review project design drawings from EPC contractors, vendors and utility partners; - Participate in regular calls with EPC contractors, vendors and utility partners; - Work with supervisor to engage with 3rd party engineers performing EPC and Balance of plant design for Aypa’s projects; - Work with the Procurement and Pre-Construction teams to review and validate technical exhibits in contractual documents; - Work with the Construction team to manage engineering tasks during construction; - Work with EPC contractors, vendors and utility partners to validate SCADA design; - Support commissioning efforts for BESS, Solar PV, and Hybrid projects across the Aypa portfolio of projects; - Coordinate commissioning and other testing between Project contractors, equipment vendors, AHJs, and Utilities/Grid operators; - Review and validate commissioning test results and documents generated by Project contractors and equipment vendors; - Create in-house tools and templates for standardization and reduce effort invested in repetitive tasks; - Support transitioning of projects from Execution to Operations; - Mentor junior project engineers and act as SME; - Perform ad-hoc projects and duties as required or assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a reputed/accredited university; - 6 to 8 years of experience in project engineering of Utility Scale BESS, PV, and Hybrid projects; - Strong fundamentals in Electrical Engineering with the ability to self-perform varied scopes of work; - Strong understanding of BESS and PV project design, commissioning procedures and processes; - Familiarity with general electrical and substation commissioning procedures and processes; - Familiarity with various grid operator design and commissioning requirements, such as ERCOT and CAISO metering requirements and commissioning processes; - Familiarity with various BESS and PV technologies; - High-level understanding of Grid-scale renewable energy project development, specifically Energy Storage and PV systems; - Functional understanding of SCADA design for renewable energy projects; - Strong time management and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects and engineering team initiatives. Aypa Power is seeking an accounting manager to oversee day-to-day project accounting, month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations. This role will manage accounting for multiple areas, including construction costs, prepaid assets, fixed assets, CIP, accruals, and leases across the company’s projects. The ideal candidate is self-driven, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for your areas of responsibility. Responsibilities: - Own specific areas of the general ledger, including the preparation and posting of journal entries and performing monthly account reconciliations; - Drive monthly close process, including working independently and with team members to meet all targets and timelines; - Prepare documentation and assist in interim and year end external audits; - Understand and review owner contract for accounting related tasks & responsibilities; - Lead the monthly draw process for assigned projects under construction; - Review cost coding and review the accuracy of vendor and subcontractor invoices; - Lead and manage the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial statements and reports, including preparation of journal entries and respective account reconciliations; - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline project accounting processes and enhance control over transactions; - Ensure GAAP compliant accounting policies and processes are fully established and properly followed for accounting and reporting of business transactions; - Prepare, review, and ensure accurate capture and attribution of journal entries, daily transactions, and monthly expense allocations to projects; - Prepare and review monthly general ledger account reconciliations; - Adhere to all financial deadlines, including month-end and quarterly reporting; - Other duties as required or assigned. Key Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience. Renewable energy or construction accounting preferred; - CPA required; - Understanding of energy projects, and experience with foreign and multiple entities is a plus; - Experience in renewable energy industry, understanding of renewable development preferred; - Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written); - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; - Ability to develop strong partnerships and influence people; - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
