• Provide a variety of educational services to degree, certificate, and non-degree learners • Ensure that learners receive quality educational experiences consistent with stated course outcomes • Engage in scholarly activities or professional practice in the discipline • Teaching (online), mentor and committee work (graduate level only), and contributing to curriculum development • Participate in school governance through faculty committees and may participate in a variety of other activities based upon the university’s needs • Facilitate highly interactive dissertation and capstone course-rooms • Participate in the design development and continuous improvement of courses and course materials • Regularly review course feedback and implement change to continually strengthen performance • Demonstrate leadership roles in school and university governance

• Assistant Professors are full-time employed faculty who provide a variety of educational services to degree, certificate, and non-degree learners. • Responsible for meeting the expectations and requirements of Capella University while establishing and maintaining effective relationships with learners, colleagues, staff, and administration. • Ensure that learners receive quality educational experiences consistent with stated course outcomes as well as HLC and any program accreditation standards. • Teach (online), mentor, contribute to curriculum development, participate in school governance, and may participate in a variety of other activities based upon the university’s needs and the faculty member’s unique skill set. • Regularly review course feedback and implement changes to continually strengthen performance and enhance learner experience.

• Provide instructional and academic support to learners in courses • Facilitate 1:1 coaching and consultation, instructional materials and resources, and office hours or group study sessions • Build an online community conducive to learning • Create learning resources using text, video, and technologies to engage learners • Lead discussions and plan review sessions combining content with study strategies • Assess learning through evaluations utilizing rubrics

• Lead and evolve the IT security risk management program in alignment with organizational goals, risk appetite, and risk tolerance • Partner with executive leadership to shape risk strategy and drive enterprise-wide adoption • Serve as a key advisor on risk posture, translating technical findings into strategic business decisions • Identify, assess, and quantify technology risks by evaluating cybersecurity threats, operational vulnerabilities, and emerging technology risks using qualitative and quantitative methodologies • Conduct risk assessments using established frameworks, including NIST CSF and CIS Controls v8 • Translate technical findings into clear, actionable business risk and support risk-based decision making • Manage and maintain the enterprise IT risk register, including risk ownership, scoring, and lifecycle tracking • Design and implement IT security risk mitigation strategies and controls aligned with industry standards • Lead the risk exception management process, including evaluation, documentation, and risk acceptance decisions • Provide risk-informed guidance for complex technology initiatives, including emerging areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning • Integrate IT security risk management practices into business and technology processes • Define and evolve risk metrics, key risk indicators (KRIs), and risk appetite thresholds • Develop dashboards and reporting that translate risk data into actionable insights for executive and board-level audiences • Drive adoption of IT security risk platforms and workflow automation to improve efficiency and scalability

• Intake and manage academic policy violation and appeal cases within Service Level Agreements • Identify patterns and actions related to those patterns to assess and improve workflows • Assist research/documentation projects • Communicate and evaluate workflows • Track workflows and provide feedback to staff on improvement/efficiency • Schedule rooms and meetings • Coordinate projects and workflows for rotation/schedules • Perform other duties or projects as needed
