Role Description We’re hiring an Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations at Atomic. You will own journal entries and account reconciliations, support the monthly close, manage accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, and partner with the Accounting Manager on financial reporting and ad hoc projects. As Atomic scales, this role will expand in scope and depth, with opportunity to grow across cost accounting, fixed assets, audit support, and process automation. You’ll work closely with the Accounting Manager and the broader Finance team to build the accounting backbone of a complex, AI-driven manufacturing business. This is a high-impact role for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and excited to help establish the processes that will scale with the company. Key Responsibilities - Own the preparation and submission of journal entries and account reconciliations, and support the monthly close, including accruals and prepaids. - Manage the accounts payable cycle, including invoice intake, three-way matching against POs and receiving documentation, GL and cost center coding, vendor master data, and 1099 reporting. - Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including customer invoicing across mold making and part production jobs, collections, cash application, and AR aging. - Reconcile vendor statements and partner with the Purchasing Coordinator to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure PO and receiving accuracy. - Support cost accounting, inventory, and fixed asset workflows as needed. - Support payroll processing, including reviewing hours, processing adjustments, and resolving payroll-related questions. - Assist with financial reporting, audit support, and diligence as the company scales. - Maintain audit-ready documentation and identify opportunities to automate accounting processes as transaction volume grows. Qualifications - 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close and general ledger ownership. - Big 4 or equivalent public accounting background a plus; CPA or CPA candidate a plus. - Strong working knowledge of GAAP and hands-on experience across the full AP and AR cycles. - Strong Excel skills and the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly. Experience with QuickBooks Online is a plus. - Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under high transaction volume and deadline pressure. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently, prioritize across competing demands, and proactively flag issues. Nice to Have - Experience in manufacturing or another high-transaction-volume environment. - Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed company. - Experience with cost accounting, inventory, or fixed asset accounting. Role Description As a Simulation Engineer at Atomic, you will develop high-fidelity models that capture the physics and constraints of real-world manufacturing processes.
