Job Description API653/EEMUA 159 Storage Tank Assessor Remote – With Travel to Sites Permanent, full-time Competitive salary plus benefits The NDT (Non-Destructive) Division requires an API 653/EEMUA 159 Tank Integrity Assessor to undertake Storage Tank assessments. As a Tank Assessor, you will be required to undertake testing, using non-destructive and non-intrusive methodology for tank testing using various specialise equipment in a variety of environments. You will also be expected to collect data via external surface testing whilst tanks/pipes are in situ and using the data collected, to create and provide reports presenting analysis from data gathered. More about the role: - Executing tests using procedures and methodology to determine condition and status of a tank, pipeline or similar and determine the lifeline and quality of the product. - All duties associated with the inspection of tanks/pipeline or similar including organizing and generating reports relating to inspection and evaluation, preparing and delivering all reports relating to the subject matter with recommendation for repair, replacement or other resolutory path. - Ensuring all equipment used for testing is full functioning and serviceable to maximum output and in strict accordance with manufacturers guidelines and relevant safety regulations. It is the postholders responsibility to identify and arrange repairs and servicing when necessary. - Prioritizing works in order of efficiencies and satisfying customer demand. - Prepare proposals, quotes and sales contracts to be delivered to internal and external parties. - Establish, develop, and maintain current client and potential client relationships; ensure such contact is periodically refreshed by way of regular communication. - Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through sales force activity to appropriate company staff. - Prepare accurate and concise paperwork to activate and maintain contract services. - Awareness of ISO/IEC17020 standard for various types of inspection and activity. Responsibilities of the role include: - On site surveys of domestic properties including the collection of vapour, soil and groundwater samples. - Compilation of/and interpretation of field and analytical data. - Preparation of reports, tables, and/or figures for reports - Scoping of remedial works and preparation of costs for the scoped works - Planning and scheduling of labour, plant and materials for the works - Supervision of staff/subcontractors in the execution of investigations/remedial works on domestic properties - Engagement with Internal and external stakeholder Qualifications Qualifications/Skillset: - A minimum of two years’ experience in the environmental services and consulting sector or be able to demonstrate a similar level of relevant transferable skills/experience in a related sector i.e. building, construction, geotechnical - A recognised qualification in further education i.e. Degree/HND in Environmental Sciences, Geology, Construction, Building/Building Surveying, Engineering is preferred, but not essential - A full, clean, UK driving licence is a pre-requisite - Self-motivated - Excellent organisational and time-management skills - Effective written and oral communication skills - Ability to multitask - Able to work independently or as part of a team - Confident in interacting with clients/policy holders - Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to pay attention to detail - Competent user of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word - Experience in the use of CAD or similar is beneficial Employment Benefits: - This role is home based - Competitive salary, level dependent on experience - Company vehicle/allowance - 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service to a maximum of 23 days plus bank holidays - Healthcare provision - Death in service cover - Enhanced company sick pay after qualifying period - Additional training will be provided as required - Re-location allowance will be considered for the right candidate (if appropriate) Additional Information MEL Environmental Solutions Ltd offers comprehensive pollution response services tailored for the insurance sector.
