Senior Security Engineer – Elastic SIEM, Detection Engineering

• Own and optimize the Elastic Security platform (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Fleet, Logstash, Elastic Agents) • Design and maintain ingestion pipelines for cloud, endpoint, network, and application telemetry • Improve telemetry quality, data retention, performance, and investigation workflows • Integrate SIEM workflows with SOAR and automation tooling • Build and maintain a Detection-as-Code pipeline using Git-based workflows and CI/CD automation • Develop, test, tune, and maintain high-fidelity detections using Elastic Security, EQL, and KQL • Reduce alert noise through tuning, enrichment, suppression, and exception handling • Map detections to MITRE ATT&CK and drive detection coverage strategy • Assist with complex alert escalations and perform initial incident scoping • Translate incident learnings into improved detections and telemetry coverage • Partner with other teams to improve logging and visibility
Role Description The Cloud Sales Advisor, reporting to the regional Cloud Sales Manager, will drive revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing new service provider partnerships in North America. You will manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation and contract closure, while collaborating closely with internal teams and distribution partners. This role requires a hunter mentality, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of the cloud computing landscape. - Attract new Service Providers to Acronis by reaching out to prospects that have already engaged with Acronis through offline/online events, registered for trial, opened Acronis emails, etc. - Source new Service Providers prospects via LinkedIn, Salesforce database, connections. - Connect with Acronis potential Service Providers using the approved tools, including but not limited to Avaya, Zoom, Outlook, etc. to verify the interest level based on certain criteria and BANT qualification, such as: the environment, need, budget, pain points, competitors, decision makers, number of workloads they want to protect. - All activities must be documented in Salesforce; demo sessions via Zoom should be done with camera on. - Do the research before reaching out to a prospect and prepare questions based on it, using company’s web site, LinkedIn profile, any other public information about the company or contact. - Manage the whole sales cycle: qualification, negotiation, demo sessions with the involvement of the Solution Engineers if needed, negotiating, closing the deal by signing a contract offline or online. - Make sure to sign a contract with quality Service Providers, who are ready to invest into the business with Acronis and plan to stay for a long time. - Manage the pipeline: maintain Service Level to follow-up prospects, provide timely forecast to direct Manager or regional General Manager. - Align and sync with Distributors in the assigned region, including bi-weekly calls, joint marketing activities and events. - Co-operate with all related departments at Acronis to close the deal successfully: Solution Engineers, Support, Sales Enablement, Product Management, etc. - Understand Acronis brand messages and communicate them effectively to prospects; respect and support sales' role in promoting a positive brand image. - Understand Acronis key competitors and effectively communicate differentiators ("kill points") of our products/solutions. - Receive coaching feedback and participate in individual coaching sessions. - Pass obligatory quarterly upskill training sessions. As a Cybersecurity Researcher, you will be part of the global Threat Research Unit, fighting against modern cyber threats and cybercriminals by: - Participating in design and implementation of detection capabilities of Acronis Security and EDR products. - Analyzing clean and malicious content: executables, scripts, various document formats, websites, memory dumps, vulnerabilities. - Developing, supporting, and fine-tuning threat detection logic and signatures. - Conducting online research of the latest cyber threats and ensuring those can be detected by existing in-house technologies. - Contributing to sharing research results in blog posts and articles. - Monitoring automated detection pipelines to ensure high detection accuracy. - Supporting scan engine and product development by participating in joint research projects. Qualifications - Understanding of modern cyber-attack techniques, common types of malwares, OS internals (primarily Windows, macOS and Linux is a plus), and network protocols. - 5+ years' experience in malware analysis (executables, scripts, document formats, exploits): static (e.g. IDA Pro, Ghidra), dynamic (e.g. x64dbg, OllyDBG), and behavioral (e.g. Cuckoo, CAPE). - 3+ years' experience with proactive Threat Hunting (using multiple EDR/XDR solutions). - Network traffic analysis (Wireshark). - Extensive experience working with threat intelligence tools and services: VirusTotal, Shodan, Censys, MISP (or similar feed collections), analysis with MITRE ATT&CK framework. - 3+ years' experience working for a well-established security vendor. - Software development experience: Python, REST APIs, SQL, Regular expressions.
