Role Description An established, high-volume distribution business is seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to own the close, improve processes, and support a private equity–backed growth environment. This role reports to the CFO, is fully remote (CST preferred), and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves setting. - Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close to deliver accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements. - Own key balance sheet reconciliations (cash, AR, AP, inventory, accruals) and strengthen accounting policies and controls. - Act as a power user for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, driving cleanup of legacy data and process improvements. - Partner with AP/AR, support budgeting and KPI reporting, and prepare schedules and analyses for the CFO and PE stakeholders. Qualifications - 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience with significant close and reconciliation ownership (CPA preferred). - Strong US GAAP knowledge and experience in a distribution or other high-volume environment. - Mid-market ERP experience (D365 Business Central or similar) and advanced Excel skills. - Experience in a low- or mid-market private equity–backed company, including exposure to PE-style reporting cadence and KPIs.
