Java Lead Developer About the Role As a Java Lead Developer, you'll play an integral role in building the roadmap of the company's technology strategy. Responsibilities - Extensive Hands-on experience in Server-side/Web Services development, enhancing and maintaining enterprise-class applications on the J2EE application development platform. - Required Hands-on experience participating in all phases of the SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle). - Extensive Hands-on development experience implementing applications utilizing any J2EE Application Server, Authentication and Authorization, Caching strategies - Hands-on programming experience using Java, J2EE, REST/SOAP, HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, Webix JS, Spring, JSON, XML, JWT, OAuth, Postman, ReadyAPI, and/or similar technologies. - Experience in implementing REST services supporting client-facing application. - Experience implementing REST services security using JWT, OAuth, and other related technologies / standards. - Experience in development of self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components Demonstrable experience developing, optimizing, and maintaining an enterprise-level web services including complete ownership of the services stack. - Preferred Hands-on experience with Agile Development Methodologies (preferably Scrum). - Preferred Hands-on experience with CI/CD methodologies and containerized application deployments. - Preferred Hands-on experience with web applications developed for Cloud platforms. - Experience in HHS business domain like SNAP, TANF. Requirements - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field - Total experience 10+ as Full Stack Java developer - Federal government or State level experience - 2 years’ experience in Health and Human Services programs (SNAP and TANF). - 2 years’ experience in Eligibility and Enrollment. • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to design and deliver subsystems and product features aligned with strategic objectives. • Take ownership of defined subsystems or feature areas, contributing across the full development lifecycle from concept and build through testing and deployment. • Ensure solutions adhere to established engineering standards, best practices, and quality guidelines. • Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities to maintain code quality, reliability, and consistency. • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing to support long-term maintainability and onboarding. • Build and support backend services in Kotlin to support a web UI and a set of remote gateways. • Design APIs and data flows with an emphasis on reliability, security, and clarity. • Contribute to pragmatic architectural decisions and help shape backend patterns and standards. • Work with healthcare standards and integrations, including DICOM and HL7.
