Devil May Care Studios is looking to hire a Writer for AM Update and The Megyn Kelly Show, a daily, two-hour news, politics, legal, and cultural live radio show and podcast. The Writer will work closely with the host, producers, and editorial team to craft clear, compelling copy across segments, cold opens, research materials, and promotional content. This position is a remote position, and can be located anywhere in the United States. Responsibilities: - Write segment copy, intros, teases, and transitions for the daily show - Draft research summaries and background materials for the host and production team - Craft compelling cold opens and narrative framing for major stories - Summarize complex political, legal, and cultural topics in a clear and engaging way - Assist with scripting live and recorded podcast elements - Closely monitor the news cycle to identify key storylines and timely talking points - Ensure all written material aligns with the host’s voice, tone, and editorial direction - Other duties as assigned Requirements: - Strong background in journalism, writing, political media, or related fields - Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills - Ability to distill complex issues into concise, accessible language - Deep interest in news, politics, culture, and current events - Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines - Ability to adapt to the host’s voice and maintain consistent editorial standards - Experience writing for broadcast, podcasts, or digital media is a plus - Flexibility to work later hours as breaking news merits Other: - Compensation: To be discussed on a per-candidate basis - Full-time status, with benefits - This role reports to the Executive Producer of the show
