Role Description The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for the following job duties: - Administer and optimize Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgres databases in multi-cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration with AWS, GCP, and Azure services. - Provide expert guidance on database architecture, storage, partitioning, and high-availability configurations (RAC and Data Guard). - Oversee "Day 2" operations, including advanced performance tuning, proactive monitoring, database patching, backup and recovery strategies, and security hardening. - Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex database issues, ensuring root cause analysis and timely resolution. - Stay updated on emergency database technologies, cloud-native tools, and Oracle advancements to recommend modern solutions to clients. - Implement and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) setups, such as Oracle Data Guard and GoldenGate replication, across cloud platforms. - Perform capacity planning, resource allocation, and optimization to maintain database scalability and cost efficiency. - Ensure compliance with security standards, enforcing database encryption, auditing, and user privilege management. - Lead large-scale database migration projects, including on-prem to cloud and inter-cloud migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. - Develop detailed migration plans, leveraging tools like RMAN, Oracle Data Pump, Data Guard, and GoldenGate for secure and efficient transitions. - Train and mentor junior DBAs, enabling skill development and ensuring adherence to best practices. - Represent client requirements internally to engineering and product teams, ensuring alignment with technical priorities.
