Position Description: We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator (AWS) to join our CGI team to work on a highly visible transformation (Infrastructure services) projects for one of our long-standing government clients! Your future duties and responsibilities: How you'll make an impact Responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrading, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and security of cloud-based databases. Includes the development and design of Databases solutions, migration of databases, transforming workload and the opportunity to utilize cloud native database systems. . Installs, patches, and configures Oracle, MySQL, PostreSQL, and Aurora database software in AWS environments (e.g. EC2) . Supports database deployment and migration activities; executes backups and restores . Troubleshoots and resolves database issues across development, testing, and production environments . Manages database level security . Designs, develops, tests, and implements database tools, including: Backup/Recovery solutions Security and Encryption Data Archival Data Masking and Subsetting . Monitors and analyzes database performance and resource utilization across multiple databases to develop CPU, Memory, and Storage capacity projections and improve operational efficiency . Works with systems engineers and architects on issues related to database infrastructure architecture, design, and capacity; and assists with Proof Of Concept testing . Develops and maintain disaster recovery plans to guarantee rapid response and recovery from outages or data loss . Works with peers within and beyond the Operations team to define and characterize complex technology or process problems and develop & implement new solutions . Develops operational procedures, white papers, proposals, and other documentation . With Applications DBA: Designs database environments and components. Produces and maintains logical and physical data models for databases and projects . Develops scripts to automate repetitive systems administration, monitoring, and reporting activities Required qualifications to be successful in this role: What you'll bring . 5-8 years of Oracle DB Administration experience in a large production environment, including Oracle on EC2, Oracle RMAN, and Oracle Data Guard . 3-5 years AWS RDS experience including Aurora, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server RDS Database administration experience . Experience with Oracle RMAN backup/recovery, AWS KMS encryption, Delphix data masking, and data archival solutions including S3 lifecycle management . Familiarity with LDAP authentication, RBAC concepts, and Microsoft AD . 3+ years of experience working with AWS cloud services including EC2, RDS, S3, KMS, CloudWatch, and IAM . Experience working with third party service providers such as vendors and internal support groups . Excellent troubleshooting and root cause-analysis skills . Ability to exercise independent judgment in driving technical problems to resolution . Ability to plan and implement change for enterprise systems, adhering to standard change management processes .
