Job Description

Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Alliant Insurance Services

• Responsible for leading and performing data warehouse design, data analysis, design and developing ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) and reporting solutions using Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) tools. • Performs design and code reviews while leading and mentoring BI developers to ensure best practices and the review process are being followed. • Participates in establishing the data management framework that improves the data quality and standards for both database structures and the warehouse repository. • Designs, leads and develops requirements for data mapping and ETL processes. • Designs, leads and participates in the development of the data model(s) for the data warehouse. • Provides recommendations for all data strategies and innovative reporting solutions. • Performs analysis and design, and maps data between source systems and the Enterprise Data Warehouse; analyzes data in source systems to assess data quality and makes recommendations for addressing within the source systems or as part of the ETL process. • Develops SSAS Tabular Models, Power BI Dashboards and other appropriate data access objects for end user reporting depending on business need. • Performs design and code reviews to ensure best practices and standards are being followed by all team members. • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Seven (7) or more years Requirements Gathering, data analysis, design and coding of data warehouse database, processes and reporting
  • Insurance Industry experience a plus
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft BI Tools (SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Power Query, Power BI)
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team and to foster teamwork
  • Demonstrated understanding of system integrations and database structures
  • Proficient in Microsoft® Office suite applications
