Role Description As a Senior Build Engineer at Buildertrend, you’ll improve the everyday experience of the engineers building software for more than 1 million construction pros worldwide. Your work will help engineers feel momentum in their work and ship high-quality software smoothly and predictably without unnecessary friction. - Own and evolve developer experience, including local development and onboarding. - Partner with engineering leaders and platform teams to drive practical, scalable workflow improvements. - Leverage cutting-edge AI tools to drive engineering efficiency. - Standardize and simplify engineer workflows where it improves clarity and reliability. - Shorten feedback loops by improving build and test visibility. - Build automation that removes manual steps and reduces errors. - Measure and communicate impact using metrics such as build time, failure rates and deployment frequency. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field or equivalent experience. - 6+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping customer-facing features, preferably in a .NET environment. - Strong experience working in .NET-based applications and tooling. - Proven ability to identify and reduce friction in the software development lifecycle, and proactively improve build performance, test reliability, automation, and developer experience. - Comfort working directly in application codebases when diagnosing build or pipeline issues. - Experience automating workflows using languages such as Python, Bash or Go. - Experience working in cloud and containerized environments, including Docker and a major cloud provider. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping customer-facing features, preferably in a .NET environment.
