Role Description C2's client, the fifth-largest commercial bank headquartered in the Midwest, is building a bench of Senior Data Analytics Developer to join its Community Banking Data Office. This company combines the stability of a leading regional financial institution with the culture and relationships of a community bank. Its Community Banking Data Office is building a class-leading analytics team that solves complex business challenges and transforms banking data into meaningful insights that improve business performance and the customer experience. The Senior Data Analytics Developer leads the design, development, and delivery of enterprise reporting, dashboards, data models, automation, and analytics solutions supporting Community Banking initiatives. Working directly with line of business leaders and cross-functional technology teams, this role transforms complex business requirements into scalable reporting solutions that improve operational performance and drive data-informed decision-making. Success in this role comes from combining technical expertise with analytical curiosity, peer leadership, and strong business partnership while continually advancing reporting standards, analytics capabilities, and the organization's data culture. Responsibilities - Analytics Leadership - Lead large analytics initiatives through planning, execution, and completion by providing peer leadership, collaborating across functional teams, building consensus with business and senior stakeholders, and implementing logical solutions. - Own the full analytics delivery lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancements. - Build, develop, and maintain data models, dashboards, reports, data automation solutions, and performance metrics that support key business decisions. - Proactively evaluate data and data technology trends to guide business partners on emerging opportunities. - Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistent reporting by designing analytics solutions with appropriate data controls aligned to established policies, procedures, and standards. - Drive development standards and best practices across analytics tooling, including SQL, Python, Power BI, and Databricks. - Present analytical findings, KPI insights, and recommendations directly to senior leadership. - Power BI & Business Intelligence - Create consistent dashboards, reporting, and analytics experiences for business users. - Elicit and understand business requirements from stakeholders, translating business needs into BI solutions and data models that transform raw data into meaningful insights. - Translate ambiguous business challenges into structured analytical problems and actionable reporting solutions. - Data Engineering & Analytics - Partner with business users to derive requirements, identify data sources, and transform data using SQL and Python to produce file extracts for Power BI dashboards and downstream systems. - Partner with Data Engineering and Cloud teams to define and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines, Azure Databricks transformations, and SQL Server structures. - Perform exploratory, ad hoc, and qualitative analysis to identify trends, customer behaviors, operational opportunities, system issues, and non-recurring reporting needs. - Create customized calculations and business intelligence solutions that improve performance visibility and decision-making. - Technical Leadership & Mentorship - Inform technology direction by evaluating emerging tools, capabilities, and data platforms. - Provide thought leadership and mentorship to junior developers and analysts while elevating the maturity of the analytics practice. - Influence enterprise adoption of data-driven decision-making and support data culture transformation initiatives. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, MIS, Statistics, or another relevant discipline; Master's degree in a data-related field preferred. - Five to ten years of analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering experience within financial services or another complex enterprise environment. - Expert-level proficiency in: - SQL, including advanced optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning. - Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, semantic models, and enterprise design patterns. - Python for data wrangling and analytics. - Data visualization best practices and user-centered dashboard design. - Experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, SQL Server, and hybrid cloud data environments. - Demonstrated ability to deliver analytics solutions that influence executive decision-making and drive measurable business outcomes. - Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data concepts for non-technical stakeholders. - Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive initiatives. - Demonstrated ability to communicate and support data culture transformation initiatives. - Client-centered approach to partnering with line-of-business stakeholders. Requirements - Microsoft Fabric experience. - Knowledge of major banking core systems including Signature, MeridianLink, Encompass, Executrax MCIF, Salesforce, or similar platforms. - Agile project delivery experience. - Proven ability to guide business partners through data-driven transformation.
