Job Description
Solutions Engineer
Klir
• Partner with AEs to deliver discovery that qualifies fast — ask technical and business questions. • Document what you learn so sales and CS can act on it. • Lead demos and proof-of-concept work that stay high-level and purposeful. • Act as the technical throughline of the deal — build trusted relationships across internal teams and customer stakeholders. • Translate complex utility operations and compliance requirements into a credible technical story. • Own the technical proposal: document requirements, competitive positioning, and plan to close the deal. • Stay fluent in the utility technology landscape — SCADA, LIMS, CMMS, GIS — and know how Klir fits alongside it. • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to feed field intelligence back into the roadmap.
Job Requirements
- 7+ years in a senior sales engineering or technical pre-sales role at a SaaS company.
- Ideally with SLED (state, local, and education/public sector) exposure.
- Track record of supporting discovery and qualification — not just executing demos.
- Command of the room with any audience, from a plant operator to a utility director.
- Customer-obsessed — you push to demonstrate the worth to the team, backed by credible outcomes or metrics.
- Experience building and defending proof-of-concept plans independently.
- Sharp instincts for when to go deep technically and when to zoom back out.
- Comfortable as the technical half of a two-person deal team: an equal partner to the Account Executive, not a support function.
- Strong ability to learn new technology and ramp up fast; thrives working independently and remotely.
- Bonus: background in water, environmental compliance, GovTech, or another regulated infrastructure sector.
- Ability and appetite to travel as needed.
Benefits
- We offer a competitive salary and benefits tailored to your market.
- Dedication to your well-being: We value your contribution and recognize the importance of your peace of mind.
- Opportunities to utilize your talents to create a meaningful and enduring impact on our species for generations to come.
- Chance to continually challenge yourself and strive for your personal best.
- Work within a team that understands the significance of our mission while maintaining a lighthearted and enjoyable work atmosphere.
- Work alongside individuals who prioritize honesty, audacity, and unwavering unity.
- Leaders are dedicated to your growth and success, helping you become the best version of yourself through fearless feedback, a focus on personal growth, and a culture of transparency.
