Engineering Manager

Role Description The Campaign Automation team, part of the Marketing Automation domain, is dedicated to enabling more relevant communications for customers by improving operational efficiency across marketing channels. Our mission is to unlock Vistaprint's ability to offer truly personalized omnichannel experiences by removing the operational bottlenecks that stand in the way. - Be part of a remote motivated team that is passionate about delivering impactful work to delight our customers. - Partner effectively with Product Managers and UX to manage scope and define deliverables for the roadmap. - Lead and manage a team of up to 10 software engineers, providing feedback on pull requests and reviewing overall architecture. - Identify areas of technical debt, perform cost/benefit analysis, and work with Product to add this work to the roadmap. - Define, track, and share metrics to ensure code quality, reliability, scalability, testability, and observability. - Partner with technical leads to ensure the team builds flexible systems and processes. - Build processes that drive technical accountability within the team, identifying and clearing potential roadblocks. - Leverage AI-native coding practices and tools to accelerate development workflows and enhance code quality. - Write code in our modern stack: C# + .NET Core or Typescript + Node. - Review code, build and run automated tests, deliver documentation, and promote technical standards. - Work in an environment where agile and iterative software development practices are embraced. Qualifications - Proficiency in an object-oriented language, such as C# or JavaScript. - Strong foundational knowledge of algorithms and data structures. - A passion for collaborative engineering and pair programming with teammates. - Openness to receiving peer feedback and a commitment to implementing it. - A strong drive to continuously learn and advance your professional skills. - A drive to adopt an AI-native mindset, leveraging advanced AI tools to accelerate development. - Professional fluency in English, both in verbal and written communication. Requirements - Familiarity with creating and consuming RESTful APIs in a microservices architecture. - Experience with Agile development methodologies. - Experience with cloud technologies and building Infrastructure as Code (IaC). - Experience with container-based deployments. - Exceptional collaboration skills and enthusiasm for working within a cross-cultural team. Role Description Wood has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Senior Environmental Professional (Engineer /Scientist) focused on contaminated sites to join our Remediation and Reclamation (A&R) Team. This position can be based anywhere in British Columbia or Alberta. The successful candidate will primarily be working on projects based in British Columbia and Alberta and will collaborate with a robust team of talented professionals across Canada with various technical specialties. Your responsibilities will include but won’t necessarily be limited to: - Project management and successful execution of environmental site assessments, remediation programs and contaminated site projects, including the development and maintenance of project scopes, schedules and budgets, and supervision of project staff. - Involvement in quality control of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications, including cost estimates and budgets. - Interpretation of provincial environmental regulations and investigation results to successfully meet client requirements. - Lead pursuits for contaminated sites and related opportunities. - Monitoring, mentoring, and leading the growth of junior team members. - Providing field coordination and technical oversight of projects. - Collaborate with other Wood offices/environmental staff on projects. - Some seasonal fieldwork will be expected. Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution plus appropriate continuing education in environmental science or engineering, geology, soil science or equivalent. - Registration (or eligibility for immediate registration) as a Professional in any of the following capacities: - Professional Agrologist (P.Ag) with the British Columbia Institute of Agrologists - Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC) - Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC) - Professional Chemist (P.Chem) with the Association of the Chemical Profession of BC - Ten (10) plus years consulting experience conducting environmental site assessments, contaminated site investigations and remediation projects. - Two (2) plus years of related project management experience is required. - Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Alberta provincial contaminated sites legislation, regulations and processes. - Adept in project scope and financial management. - Desire to provide exceptional client service and a commitment to technical excellence. - Experience supervising and training junior personnel. - Able to effectively communicate with existing company clients and internal Wood staff. - Strong writing skills are a must to prepare reports, proposals and other project deliverables. - Reclamation project experience is an asset, but not required. - Remote site heavy equipment access planning is an asset, but not required. - A passion for collaborating in a sustainable work environment focused on diversity, inclusion, reducing our environmental impact, and promoting sustainable development. - A strong desire to grow in your career with Wood.
