Avionics Systems Verification & Validation Engineer

ALTEN

• Develop, manage, and validate aircraft, system and component-level requirements, ensuring bidirectional traceability and alignment with regulatory and certification needs • Apply SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761 processes to support safety assessments (FHA, FTA, FMEA) and certification planning under Part 23/27/33 • Author, execute, and maintain verification plans, procedures, and test reports, coordinating lab, integration, and system-level tests for systems like vibrations, airframe, fuselage, interiors, environmental control systems, and electric engines • Perform system behavior modeling and support test automation and data analysis to ensure compliance with certification schedules

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, or a related field, or relevant technical military background with equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience on Part 23 or 27 aircraft or rotorcraft programs
  • Strong working knowledge of: SAE ARP4754A, ARP4761, FAA Order 8110.4C RTCA DO-160G, DO-331, DO-178C
  • Experience with ARP4754A-based verification and requirements-based testing and traceability audits
  • Proficiency with ALM and verification tools (Polarion, JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience with solid modeling tools (Onshape, SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent)
  • Comfortable working in a cross-functional, certification-focused environment

Role Description KBR is seeking a Costpoint Financial Systems Analyst to support Deltek Costpoint and related financial business processes within a government contracting environment. This role works closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and IT stakeholders to provide functional support, troubleshoot issues, support system enhancements, and ensure users can effectively leverage Costpoint to meet business and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate has experience supporting Deltek Costpoint, strong analytical and customer service skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional environment. This position may be performed remotely from anywhere within the United States. Flexibility to support month-end processing, system upgrades, and occasional evening or weekend activities is required. In September 2025, KBR announced that we are spinning our Mission Technology Solutions business into a separate public company. This role will ultimately be part of the new company. The Mission Technology Solutions business partners with governments and defense, intelligence, space, aviation, and critical infrastructure customers to deliver high-end engineering, science, technology, and mission support solutions. Key Responsibilities - Provide functional support for Deltek Costpoint users, including resolving questions and troubleshooting system issues. - Support month-end close activities, batch processing, and related financial system processes. - Partner with Finance, Accounting, and IT teams to investigate, escalate, and resolve application defects and system issues. - Assist with testing, validation, and troubleshooting for Costpoint upgrades, enhancements, and system changes. - Create and maintain process documentation, procedures, and user support materials. - Support user requests submitted through tickets, email, and phone communications. - Help maintain Costpoint master data and ensure system information remains accurate and reliable. - Ensure processes and controls comply with SOX, audit, security, and company requirements. - Participate in process improvement initiatives that enhance system performance and user experience. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing business and operational needs. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. - 2+ years of experience supporting financial systems, ERP applications, or related business processes. - Experience using or supporting Deltek Costpoint. - U.S. citizenship required. Requirements - Working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint functionality, screens, and batch processing. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills. - Ability to troubleshoot issues and collaborate with business and technical teams. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
