• Architecture and development of scalable ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines on Databricks in the Azure Cloud • Data modeling and construction of lakehouse architectures (e.g., Delta Lake, medallion model, dimensional modeling) • Automation and optimization of data flows for performance, quality, and stability • Integration and transformation of data from a wide variety of sources into data warehouses or lakehouse environments • Implementation of best practices in data governance, monitoring, and security • Mentoring junior colleagues and actively contributing to our technical standards • Close collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and consultants to deliver data-driven solutions
Job Requirements
- Degree in (business) computer science, data science, or a related field
- Several years of project experience building and operating modern data platforms
- Deep technical expertise in Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, Python (pandas, PySpark), and SQL
- Solid knowledge of data modeling (e.g., Star Schema, Data Vault, Lakehouse)
- Proficient in ETL/ELT processes, performance tuning, and workflow orchestration
- Confident working with cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Apache Kafka, or Apache Airflow is an advantage
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance
- Databricks certifications (e.g., Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional) are a plus
- Analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
- German fluency (written and spoken) and good English skills
