• Answer high-volume incoming phone calls as the first point of contact • Assist patients with scheduling appointments • Confirm and cancel appointments as requested • Respond to patient inquiries professionally and clearly • Ensure calls are handled efficiently and routed appropriately when needed • Manage appointment calendars • Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality • Assist with basic administrative coordination

Job Requirements

  • Prior experience in a medical front desk, patient coordination, or similar healthcare support role
  • Comfortable handling high call volume in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a U.S.-based team
  • Reliable internet connection and remote work setup
  • Easy to understand on the phone (clear spoken English)
  • Experience working with an electronic health record (EHR/EMR)
  • Strong customer service skills.

Role Description This position serves as the administrator, team leader and advisor on regulatory and statutory matters related to Medicaid Advance Planning Documents (APDs) and corresponding federal reporting requirements. - Medicaid APDs are federal funding requests for Medicaid IT systems and account for over $600 Million dollars towards MDHHS’ IT budget. - Works closely with and directs the work of the contract staff responsible for oversight, creation and compilation of the APDs and all other supporting documents and requirements for federal IT funding. - Interacts directly with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) state officer responsible for approval of the APDs. - Meets regularly with the CMS state officer and coordinates responses to CMS for all official Requests for Additional Information (RAI) related to the APDs and other supporting documents and requirements. - Includes submission of IT vendor RFPs, contracts and contract changes. - Leads efforts for CMS certification of Medicaid IT systems, as well as operational reporting and monthly status reporting for those systems. - Serves as the APD team liaison between various business areas requiring APD funding and the MDHHS Financial Operations Administration staff responsible for overall department funding. Qualifications - Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major. - Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
