Role Description Our California Workers' Compensation team is looking to add an attorney with workers' compensation experience to the team! This is a virtual position and we are open to candidates located anywhere in California who can make occasional in-person WCAB appearances as required. This position is responsible for representing clients in all areas of workers' compensation defense practice, handling cases that are primarily low in complexity and exposure. Manages all phases of cases from intake to resolution. Essential Job Functions - Litigates low complexity and exposure cases and performs duties necessary from intake to trial and/or settlement. - Preparation of pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs. - Attends hearings, conferences, interviews, mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials. - Proactively informs leadership of case handling opportunities and challenges encountered. - Consults with the Claims Department on the legal aspects of files. - Performs other tasks or duties to ensure efficient case management. - May handle second chair trials and handle trials in cases with minimal complexity and/or exposure. - May provide support to senior attorneys in cases of greater complexity and/or exposure and may receive developmental assignments of matters that are of moderate complexity and/or exposure. Physical Actions - Job is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location. - May include work performed at field locations. - Normal and customary distractions include background noise produced by office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions. - Frequently sits or stands for prolonged periods of time, up to a full shift. - Occasionally moves about the workplace including navigating stairs, ramps, and level or uneven surfaces. - Occasionally moves, pushes, pulls, lifts, carries, and places objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. - Frequently uses shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate equipment, tools, and objects necessary to perform job duties. - Frequently performs fine motor tasks such as typing, mousing, or writing, up to a full shift. - Occasionally performs movements such as bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead or below the knees. - Possesses clear vision, with or without correction, to visually read and verify information. - Relies on depth perception and peripheral vision to navigate the work environment visually by identifying barriers, changes in terrain and locating objects. - Possesses adequate hearing, with or without correction, to communicate with co-workers, respond promptly to auditory signals or alarms, and discern sounds essential for maintaining safety and productivity in the workplace. - Jobs in this category may require regular travel between Farmers offices, alternative work locations, and/or field locations. Physical Environment - Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment, with some exposure to uncontrolled outside environmental conditions and travel via automobile and/or commercial transportation. Education Requirements - Bachelor's degree preferred. - Licensed to practice Law in applicable states required upon hire. Experience Requirements - Civil litigation and/or personal/bodily injury experience preferred. • Handle complex and high exposure workers' compensation litigation • Analyze intricate substantive and procedural legal and factual issues • Conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research • Independently develop and present defense strategies • Prepare pleadings, depositions, motions and briefs • Provide effective and timely communications, information, and legal advice • Independently prepare and present witnesses and evidence at trials

• Support customers across Corporate Legal suite of products • Deliver measurable customer outcomes through structured Customer Success Plans (CSPs) • Conduct executive business reviews (EBRs) and proactive customer check-ins • Serve as product expert in events and develop enablement for customers • Build and present business plans and report on market activities • Model best-in-class customer and product success practices

• Prepare, review and maintain contracts, including B2B agreements and internal legal documentation. • Support legal compliance across multiple jurisdictions by maintaining legal documentation, including Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and other policies. • Assist with legal and financial compliance, working closely with external legal advisors, accountants and KPMG. • Support product launches by reviewing new features from a legal perspective and identifying potential legal risks. • Conduct legal research and help ensure compliance with applicable regulations across different markets. • Collaborate closely with Product, Finance and Operations teams on day-to-day legal matters.
