Middle QA Engineer

appflame

Role Description Your project: AdConnect. It is a business within appflame that specializes in building innovative solutions in performance marketing and digital products development. Our performance marketing includes Social, PPC, Native, and Display advertising. Within these areas, we help businesses from around the world acquire new customers through Meta, Google, TikTok, Bing, Taboola, and more. You will: - Take end-to-end ownership of feature quality, from requirements analysis to sign-off across front-end, back-end, and adjacent product components; - Test core and complex product mechanics - user flows, UI/UX, API, business logic, integrations, data, and error/loading states; - Independently define test strategy and regression scope: what's critical to verify, where the risks lie, edge cases, and impact on adjacent scenarios; - Analyze requirements early (during grooming), identify gaps and contradictions, raise questions to the PM/analysts/developers, and block untestable or risky decisions before development starts; - Write and maintain test documentation: checklists, test cases, bug reports, test reports/run results, and keep coverage up to date; - Own the full QA cycle of a task: groom → test design → execution → bugs → retest → report, driving tasks to a clear quality status; - Cover mobile/adaptive and cross-browser scenarios wherever it's critical to the feature; - Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and PMs - priorities, scope trade-offs, bug reproduction, fix verification, and blocker escalation; - Participate in sprint planning and estimate tasks in terms of testing, risk, and the cost of quality; - Propose and implement process improvements: reducing routine work, better templates/approaches to coverage, and lessons learned after incidents; - Use and develop AI and internal QA tools in day-to-day work, and help the team use them more effectively; - Maintain and grow automation: decide what to automate versus keep manual, update tests for new features, and keep runs stable; - Serve as a source of expertise for the team - knowing the flows and common risks, and helping others get up to speed on complex scenarios and questions faster. Qualifications - 3+ years of experience testing large, complex web applications; - A deep understanding of testing and development processes (goals and objectives, roles, testing types, test design, etc.); - Solid knowledge of client-server architecture, application-layer protocols, and REST APIs; - Confident experience with logging and debugging tools, as well as DevTools and Postman; - SQL skills - the ability to write complex queries to test tracking and validate data; - Hands-on experience applying AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) to build test scenarios, maintain test documentation, analyze business requirements, and identify and investigate defects; - Experience with e2e frameworks for writing UI/API tests using Playwright in JS/TS (or other test automation experience); - Proactivity, strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively with QA, Dev, and PM, and solid problem-solving skills; - A drive to broaden your responsibilities, grow, and develop. Requirements - Will be an advantage: Hands-on experience with or an understanding of A/B testing processes; - Practical experience with Git and a grasp of CI/CD fundamentals; - Experience with mentoring, onboarding, and planning and distributing workload within a QA team. Benefits - Remote-first setup, modern offices with activities, and all the equipment you need, plus compensation to set up your remote workplace; - Fair pay with regular reviews; after probation, compensation for education and English courses, Online Speaking Club, online library, and course access; - Medical insurance coverage, psychologist consultations, unlimited paid sick days, and 31 paid vacation days/year (incl. public holidays); - Corporate events, team-building activities, and paid participation in sports competitions.
