Role Description We are seeking an IT Developer to support a strategic application modernization initiative focused on migrating legacy applications to SQL Server while modernizing application architecture, user interfaces, and API frameworks. The ideal candidate will have strong Java and Spring Boot experience, expertise in SQL Server, and the ability to collaborate across multiple technical teams to deliver scalable, modern solutions. Key Responsibilities - Support the modernization and migration of legacy applications to SQL Server. - Design and define database schemas and table structures in collaboration with database administration teams. - Develop and enhance Java-based applications using Spring Boot. - Modernize front-end user interfaces using Angular or comparable web technologies. - Design, develop, and enhance APIs as part of application modernization initiatives. - Collaborate with database, cloud infrastructure, project management, and technical teams to deliver solutions. - Evaluate technical solutions, make informed design decisions, and execute development tasks independently. - Contribute to additional application modernization initiatives as new projects are introduced. - Participate in Agile development activities and support continuous improvement efforts. Qualifications - 4+ years of hands-on Java development experience. - Hands-on experience with Spring Boot. - 4+ years of experience with SQL Server, including schema and database structure design. - Front-end development experience with Angular or similar web technologies. - Strong understanding of application modernization principles. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. - Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with legacy LUW databases and database migration projects. - Prior experience with application modernization initiatives. - Experience working in cloud-enabled environments.

Role Description The Information Technology Department provides technology tools and support to all employees of Alerus.
