Senior Civil Drafter Designer
Matrix PMO
Role Description MATRIX is seeking a detail-oriented Civil Site Drafter / Designer to support engineering and project teams in the preparation, review, and coordination of civil site design drawings for hydroelectric infrastructure projects. This role will work with internal engineers and external design consultants to develop drawings that meet project requirements and drafting standards. - Develop civil site drawings and construction documents, primarily using AutoCAD Civil 3D with coordination with engineering. This includes grading, drainage, utility, roadway, geotechnical data, erosion and sediment control, and site layout plans. - Develop initial site plans, including developing existing conditions surfaces from multiple input sources (e.g., bathymetry, surveys, GIS, etc.). - Revise and update drawings based on internal feedback, engineering markups, and field conditions. - Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with development of exhibits and figures in support of construction and permit applications. - Coordinate drawing revisions with engineering, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain consistent and accurate design documentation. - Ensure all designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, and company guidelines. Qualifications - Experience in civil site development. - Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam. - Proficient in US National CAD Standards. - Solid understanding of drafting principles, construction drawings, and design coordination. - Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical documents. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Requirements - Experience in hydroelectric, power generation, or industrial projects. - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field. - Experience working in a fast-paced, project-based environment. Role Description SLC works on behalf of clients to support utility-scale thermal, solar, wind, battery energy storage, and other power generating and infrastructure projects. This position will require you to perform civil engineering reviews and analyses to understand power projects and distill technical expertise into actionable information that project stakeholders rely on to prudently develop, design, construct, operate, and finance those projects.
