Role Description AoPS Online offers rigorous, high-quality math and other STEM classes for middle and high school students which expand and deepen their scientific thinking. - Provide mentoring feedback for students preparing for contests like MATHCOUNTS, AMC, AIME, and USA(J)MO - Supplement students’ learning experiences by answering questions, providing hints, and encouragement in real time during live text-based classes - Classes run once per week from 7:20 - 9:00 pm ET - Must be available on Sundays, with potential opportunities on other days of the week Qualifications - Must be 18 or older - Strong command of math content required; physics, python, or chemistry a plus - Good English writing and typing skills - Quick thinker in a fast-paced learning environment - Must be pursuing or have completed a degree in a STEM field; completed degree preferred - Teaching or tutoring experience - Experience with math contests (e.g. MAA AMC 10/12, AIME, USA(J)MO) required; other contest experience a plus (e.g., F=ma, USAPhO, USACO, USNCO, etc) Requirements - Positions are highly flexible and can be performed anywhere with a stable internet connection - Starting pay rate is $18 per hour - AoPS Online hires worldwide; current location will influence part-time or freelance work availability - Cannot hire anyone residing in specific countries including but not limited to: Balkans, Belarus, Burma, Cuba, North Korea, Russia, Ukraine, etc. - If working from the US, must be authorized to work in the US; no sponsorship offered Benefits - Excellent opportunity to develop mentoring skills while working with amazing students! Company Description Art of Problem Solving (AoPS) is on a mission to discover, inspire, and train the great problem solvers of the next generation. Since 2003, we have trained hundreds of thousands of the country’s top students, including nearly all the members of the US International Math Olympiad team, through our online school, in-person academies, textbooks, and online learning systems.

Job Requirements

  • Must be pursuing or have completed a degree in a STEM field; completed degree preferred
  • Teaching or tutoring experience
