Job Description

Principal Software Engineer

Skimmer

• Lead and manage a small team of development engineers, acting as a player/coach to mentor and contribute technically. • Be the internal technical expert on Skimmer's newest systems • Drive the replatforming of existing features to be AI-first and interactive for our pros and their customers • Utilize AI tools and best practices to maximize the productivity and efficiency of your development team. • Work with our integrations team wherever possible in order to have a seamless customer experience.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in a technical leadership or player/coach role leading a development team’s prioritized workload at a SaaS startup.
  • Proven expertise replatforming and improving existing products with a customer-first mindset.
  • Proficiency leveraging and implementing AI tools (preferably Claude) for development productivity.
  • Team leadership of development teams and active participation in engineering leadership teams.
  • Expertise developing in NodeJS and proficient with PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) and a track record of leading successful cross-functional projects.
