• Own the technical direction for key parts of Chainguard Repository, including customer-facing registries, APIs, and serving systems that make Chainguard artifacts easy to consume securely and reliably. • Design, build, and operate high-availability backend services in Go that serve libraries today and help lay the foundation for containers, images, and APK repositories over time. • Lead work on scalability, reliability, observability, and load testing for production systems that customers depend on directly. • Drive technical decisions around repository architecture, service boundaries, and the operational patterns needed to run artifact-serving infrastructure at scale. • Partner closely with engineers across Libraries, Build Platform, Delivery, Product, and Security to create a cohesive repository experience and unlock support for more artifact types over time. • Mentor other engineers, raise the bar on design and code review, and act as a force multiplier in a fast-moving team where staff engineers are expected to own meaningful deliverables and help shape how the team works.

• Contribute to features across our platforms, and grow toward owning them end to end. • Build full-stack functionality for internal and public web applications. • Use AI tools and agents to work and learn faster, then review, test, and harden what you ship. • Take part in the full development life cycle: implementation, testing, debugging, and support. • Take part in code reviews, giving and receiving feedback. • Work directly with teammates and end users to understand the business problem behind each request. • Write reliable, well-tested code and fix issues promptly. • Pick up new languages, tools, and concepts as you go.

• Own features and problems end to end, from understanding the user’s need through design, delivery, and support. • Design and build full-stack solutions for internal and public web applications, making pragmatic architectural decisions along the way. • Work at high leverage with AI tools and agents, then review, test, and harden everything you ship. • Engage across the full development life cycle: analysis, implementation, integration, testing, debugging, and support. • Lead code reviews and raise the bar on quality, mentoring other engineers as you go. • Work directly with end users and stakeholders to understand the business problem behind each request. • Help set estimates and milestones, balance technical risk against cost and deadlines, and keep work on track. • Help drive the future roadmap of the engineering team and AHEAD.
