Role Description What You Will Do: - Claims Identification & Reporting: Monitor EEOC charges and litigation filings in conjunction with the Legal Department. Prepare and submit Notices of Loss/Circumstance and updates to carriers. Manage the Proof of Loss process for accurate cost reimbursement. - Claims Management: Manage non-clinical claims of varying severity. Direct outside counsel according to litigation and billing guidelines. Maintain claims bordereaus and loss runs, and provide data to external brokers for renewals. - Coverage Analysis & Compliance: Ensure compliance with policy reporting requirements, analyze reservation of rights letters, and draft responses to secure coverage. Review policy language to provide internal opinions on insurance recovery. - Reporting & Strategy: Present claims reports to leadership regarding loss development, financial exposure, and mitigation strategies. Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials as necessary. - Collaboration: Support Insurance Operations with underwriting marketing, renewals, and broker relationships. Qualifications - High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. - 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred. - Attorney: 3+ years in Insurance Defense, Coverage Litigation, or Claims Management. - Paralegal: 7+ years in litigation management. - Claims Manager: 7+ years managing non-clinical litigation (EPL, D&O, etc.). Role Description The Litigation Case Manager will be responsible for managing personal injury litigation files, maintaining client communication, coordinating legal deadlines, drafting legal documents, and assisting attorneys throughout the litigation process. The ideal candidate possesses strong personal injury knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload while delivering exceptional client service. This is an excellent opportunity to join a litigation practice virtually at a small Georgia Personal Injury law firm on a part-time basis. Pay is at $40.00 an hour. Key Responsibilities - Case Management & Client Communication - Manage personal injury cases from intake through settlement or trial. - Conduct regular client update calls and maintain consistent communication throughout the life of the case. - Ensure clients remain compliant with medical treatment and follow-up appointments. - Maintain detailed and accurate case notes in Filevine and other firm systems. - Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, medical providers, and insurance adjusters regarding case status. - Provide outstanding customer service and maintain high client satisfaction. - Litigation Support - Draft complaints, answers, discovery requests, discovery responses, subpoenas, and standard motions. - Assist attorneys with trial preparation, hearing preparation, and mediation packages. - Prepare, proofread, format, and finalize pleadings and other legal documents for filing. - Draft and coordinate non-party discovery requests. - Monitor service of process and communicate with process servers. - Prepare correspondence related to litigation matters. - Coordinate deposition scheduling, notices, and litigation calendars. - Maintain litigation timelines and ensure all deadlines are properly calendared. - Court Filings & Deadline Management - Calculate and calendar court deadlines in accordance with state and federal rules. - File pleadings and legal documents in state and federal courts. - Stay current with court rules, filing procedures, and litigation requirements. - Communicate with court personnel regarding filings and case status when necessary. - Manage hearing dates, mediation deadlines, discovery deadlines, and trial schedules. - Medical Records, Claims & Case Documentation - Obtain police reports, medical records, billing statements, liens, and insurance documentation. - Review and organize case files, evidence, and supporting documents. - Draft and send Letters of Representation (LORs) and Letters of Protection (LOPs). - Coordinate with medical providers and insurance companies regarding treatment and balances. - Follow up on declaration pages, policy information, MedPay benefits, and lien reductions. - Ensure all electronic case files and document repositories remain organized and updated. - Administrative & Operational Support - Maintain electronic filing systems and case management software. - Assist attorneys with legal research and special projects. - Ensure files, correspondence, and case documents meet firm quality standards. - Coordinate incoming calls, emails, faxes, and legal correspondence. - Support operational efficiency while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
