BIM Operator
Convergint
• Responsible for BIM support as part of Design Consulting and Design Build projects • Partner with Solution Architects and Project Designers • Produce security installation drawings such as floor plans, riser diagrams, details, and schedules • Develop the Information Model using Autodesk Revit • Work with customer provided REVIT files to prepare security systems installation drawings • Create additional BIM Objects (Revit Families) as needed • Produce Project Deliverables from the information Model • Adjust BIM models as directed by the customer • Create and collect various 2D drawings to be inserted in the BIM model • Ensure all elements of the Information Model are fully coordinated • Maintain organized project files, model versions, drawing records, and documentation • Review drawings and models for accuracy, completeness, and consistency • Submit Information for approval in accordance with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) • Follow BIM execution plans, CAD/BIM standards, naming conventions, and quality control procedures • Run interference/clash detection to detect design clashes • Assist in developing and maintaining project models according to company standards • Escalate any coordination issues to the lead project designer • Attend weekly meetings and submit updates to lead designer • Perform "self checking" within the information Model
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certificate in BIM Software (Revit)
- Certificate in BIM Software (Navisworks)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferable
- Minimum three year of previous Revit experience required
- Minimum of three years experience in electronic security industry preferred
- Experience using Navisworks Manager
- Autodesk Certified User - Revit
- Autodesk Certified Professional - Revit
- Associate of Applied Science Degree (A.A.S) preferred

In this role, you will prepare system installation drawings from engineered documentation for construction or permit. As a CAD/BIM Operator, you are a part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows. What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience” - Work with the customer provided AutoCAD/REVIT files to prepare security systems installation drawings to meet the contract documentation (specification and contract drawings) requirements and as instructed by the lead designer. - Run interference/clash detection to detect design clashes to assist project team with coordination process. - Attend weekly meetings and submit updates to Lead Designer. - Adjust BIM models as directed by the customer and track changes to coordinate with the project manager for change order pricing if required. - Create, collect various 2D drawings as needed to be inserted in the BIM model. - Manage 3D models for design coordination and submission for approval by the customer. - Creation of additional BIM Objects (Revit Families) as needed. - Assist the project team with model visualizations. - Provide project team with updated construction drawings as change orders are released by the customer. - Manage and use BIM modeling software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks). - Manage and use coordination, scheduling, programming, file sharing and collaboration platforms. - Update model as required by the change orders released by the customer. - Correspond regularly with the customer and other subcontractors. - Work directly with the project managers to obtain data sheets on submitted equipment for modeling and submit RFI’s as needed. - Obtain electronic files as needed for model coordination. - Update drawing set as change orders are approved and released for construction. - Prepares system as-built drawings from onsite drawing mark-ups under minimal supervision of the Lead Designer. - Assembles drawing package sets and data sheets for submittal or permit; works on moderate to complex drawing package sets and data sheets. - Assembles operations and maintenance manuals and system documentations. - Reviews own drawings for quality and accuracy.
