KYC Specialist
WeTravel
• Performing identity verification, screening, and risk assessments on individuals, sole traders, and corporate directors and UBOs • Conducting due diligence on tour operators, travel agencies, and their suppliers — researching corporate registries, articles of association, and shareholding structures to trace UBOs • Verifying travel-industry-specific credentials unique to multi-day tour operators • Investigating potential screening matches with a sharp, critical eye • Running Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on high-risk entities in complex or high-risk jurisdictions • Carrying out programmatic and ad-hoc re-verifications of individuals and entities post-onboarding • Collaborating with onboarding, support, and product teams to keep the process smooth while holding a firm line on compliance
Job Requirements
- Have 2+ years of hands-on experience in KYC and KYB verification (FinTech, payments, gaming/gambling, marketplace/platform, or travel compliance backgrounds are all a strong fit)
- Can read complex corporate structures and confidently identify Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs) across multiple international jurisdictions
- Have working knowledge of AML/CTF regulations and international sanctions programs
- Are comfortable with, or eager to learn, compliance and verification tools such as Persona
- Communicate clearly and professionally in English (professional proficiency required), and ideally also in Spanish
- Bring a balanced, risk-aware mindset — you know how to protect the business without becoming an unnecessary bottleneck to growth
- Are comfortable working in spreadsheets and enjoy digging into data — we're looking for someone who can analyze our metrics and spot data-driven ways to improve how we work (bonus, not required)
