• Independently manage a portfolio of litigation, arbitration, pre-litigation disputes, and third-party claims from intake through resolution • Develop legal strategy and defense positions, including reviewing pleadings, preparing for depositions, and guiding case execution • Direct and manage outside counsel to ensure high-quality, cost-effective representation aligned with business objectives • Conduct and oversee internal investigations related to regulatory, compliance, or operational issues • Partner with business and compliance teams to identify emerging risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies based on litigation trends • Review and respond to escalated consumer complaints, including those submitted to regulatory agencies, ensuring timely, compliant responses • Partner with operational teams to develop and maintain scalable complaint management processes, procedures, and response frameworks • Analyze complaint trends and root causes, collaborating cross-functionally to implement preventative measures and reduce legal exposure • Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing clear, practical legal guidance • Drive alignment between legal, compliance, and business teams to strengthen risk management practices • Support ongoing process improvements and contribute to a culture of accountability, integrity, and operational excellence
Job Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing
- 5+ years of experience handling consumer financial services litigation, which can include a combination of law firm and in-house experience
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state consumer protection laws and financial services regulations
- Experience in consumer lending and/or bank sponsorship programs preferred
- Proven ability to independently manage complex litigation matters while balancing legal risk and business priorities
- Experience operating in a fast-paced, evolving, financial services or fintech environment
- Strong business judgment with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders
- Data-driven mindset, with the ability to identify trends in litigation and complaints and turn insights into preventative strategies
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of effective cross-functional partnership
- Demonstrated ownership mentality, with the ability to drive initiatives forward and influence legal outcomes

This individual must have the ability to build and leverage relationships with project supervision, construction, and engineering teams. This individual may be responsible for the care, custody and control of company-owned construction technology hardware such as drones, GPS units, etc. to which they are assigned.
