Role Description The Lead Engineer is a key leadership role that will assist the Partners in growing ProtoGen’s capabilities and client offerings. You will report to the Executive Vice President and will be given significant trust to develop, perform and deliver client-based opportunities. Your work activities will generally be related to microgrids, distributed energy resources (DER), and electric vehicle infrastructure (EVI) technology deployment; however, the fast-paced energy market requires flexibility and the capability of expanding skillsets and offerings. You will support the design of ambitious microgrid projects from the ground up: - Prepare cost budgets, a basis of design, and perform analysis and system modeling during pre-construction. - Oversee external engineering and construction efforts on behalf of ProtoGen’s clients during construction. - Support ProtoGen’s education program, disseminating knowledge and resources to the next generation of engineers. The ideal candidate for this role will possess a deep understanding of the energy industry, as well as strong leadership and project management skills: - Ability to design new and innovative solutions from a blank page. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to wear many hats. - Dynamic self-starter with a desire to grow and manage a team. Job Requirements
